This syllabus is an eclectic one because it combines elements of all syllabus types
so that each lesson or series of lessons focuses on different aspects of what is to
be learnt (Nunan, D. 1988, p. 3). Moreover, the methodology that serves this
syllabus is an eclectic methodology because it combines many methodologies that
may help for delivering the appropriate activities for a meaningful learning process.
Up next, we present the methodologies chosen for this syllabus:
1. Direct Method
a. Getting Students to Self-correct.
b. Use the Target Language Only.
2. Audio-Lingual Method
a. Dialogue Memorization.
b. Repetition and Chain Drill.
c. Single-slot Substitution Drill, Multiple-slot Substitution Drill,
Transformation Drill and Question-and-answer Drill.
3. Total Physical Response (TPR)
a. Using Commands to Direct Behavior.
b. Action Sequence.
4. Desuggestopedia
a. Classroom Setup.
b. Choose a New Identity.
It is also recommended that in certain units there will be activities that students
needs to bring to the classroom some materials for its development, so pay
attention on the units that will require these types of materials.
