LEARNING By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:
OBJECTIVES 1. Read an advert about an activity camp.
2. Listen to someone registering for an adventure weekend
PRE-LESSON:
1. Teacher highlights the information about Chris in the speech bubble.
2. Teacher elicits answers to the question -Do you like adventures? As a class.
3. Teacher writes the word activity camp on the board.
4. Teacher asks pupils to work in pairs and write down what they expect to do an
activity camp, e.g. swimming, skateboarding, playing tennis etc.
5. Listen to their ideas as a class and make a list on the board.

LESSON DEVELOPMENT: Read- Activity SB 16


1. Teacher explains to pupils that when we look at the text like this, we
usually have some idea of what we are looking for first. We do not usually
begin at the beginning of the text and read everything. We scan the text
until we find we are looking for. (Skimming and scanning)
ACTIVITY 2. Pupils read the five questions carefully. They look in the advert and find
the answers to the questions. Pupils compare answers in pairs.
3. Teacher check answers as a class. Teacher makes sure pupils understand
log cabins (small, wooden houses)

4. Teacher explains the task. Pupils listen to a conversation and complete the
gaps. Teacher asks pupils to look at the gaps and elicits form them the
information they need to listen for.
5. Teacher plays the CD. Pupils write the answers in their notebooks.
Teacher check answers as a class.

POST-LESSON:

1. Teacher asks the pupils to share their view on today’s lesson. (Thumb up and
down).
