Bodmando Consulting Group is a registered international development and humanitarian consulting
enterprise headquartered in Kampala, Uganda but with a team of 15 field staff spread across East and
West Africa, South Asia and the MENA region. We are a women led research institution that designs
innovative solutions to tackle poverty, health inequities, gender inequality and social injustice. Our
expertise is built on the premises of systems thinking, human centred design and intersectionality.
Bodmando’s technical services include Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, Policy, Strategy and
Programme Design, Institutional Strengthening, Capacity Building and Development of Toolkits. Our
research team is composed of multidisciplinary staff with a technical background in several thematic
areas. Bodmando is sensitive to Gender Equality and Social Inclusion and in this regard, 80% of our
staff are women, people with disabilities and other marginalized populations.
Bodmando researchers have supported several projects in over 16 countries across 4 continents
through physical, remote and hybrid mechanisms. Our data assemblage and insight capabilities have
enabled the generation of evidence that has transformed the lives of marginalized communities. We
have a global presence with a strong network of several civil society organisations including
community-based organisations, international NGOS, national NGOs, governments, donors, the
private sector, and other development partners. Bodmando researchers are fluent in English and other
languages e.g., Luganda, Kiswahili, Sign Language, French, Spanish, Arabic, & Hindi.

Back ground
In collaboration with local and international NGOs, donors, governments and communities,
Bodmando designs and implements several research and evaluation activities that contribute to
programme knowledge and learning. This allows global development actors to dissect and fix the
direction of their funded programmes for enhanced impact. These studies are implemented by
Bodmando’s Evaluation Unit but they require operational support services to ensure effectiveness,
efficiency and timeliness. To support this operational function, Bodmando is seeking the services of
an Administrative Assistant to oversee the day-to-day operational aspects of the research and
evaluation related activities of the Evaluation unit.

Overall Responsibility
The Administrative Assistant will provide research operational support to consultants, field
enumerators and other research staff in addition to ensuring efficiency, effectiveness and timeliness
of all research related activities and in a manner that promotes high quality processes and client
satisfaction.

Duties and responsibilities shall include:


• Serve as the Safeguarding officer for Bodmando Consulting Group and oversee child
protection and safeguarding mechanisms to protect communities during research activities.
• Provide solutions to field related challenges during data collection
• Schedule meetings with clients to provide updates on the progress of research and evaluation
activities
• Ensure compliance to organisational and client policies, rules and procedures during the
execution of research and evaluation activities.
• Hold regular team interface meetings with consultants/research teams to track progress of
research activities.
• Manage research program milestones to meet customer requirements
• Manage/track program spending to prevent cost overruns
• Train data collectors and consultants in research ethics, safeguarding principles amongst others
• Support new business development activities such as RFI and RFP submittals
• Participate in editing of research and evaluation reports and in graphical design.
• Perform any other duties as shall be assigned by your line manager.
