B6: Performing as an Actor for an Audience

1. Develop and realise a performance through rehearsal.

2. Apply acting skills and techniques to a performance for an audience.

Context:

Working as a theatre company, it is important that we promote what we do to try to

engage better with our audience. Marketing is vital for any theatre company and
promotion of what we do is encouraged if we are to sell more tickets and have more
performances.

A flashmob is used to entertain and engage an audience. This might be in a train

station, a public library, a shopping arcade or a park. A flashmob will only usually last
a short amount of time and will appear to be seemingly spontaneous and will just as
quickly disperse. They can be disruptive but memorable and fun. They are usually
captured on social media and often turn viral.

To perform effectively to the audience you must prepare fully, participating in the
rehearsal process to develop your role. You will keep a record of your rehearsal process
in order to capture your creative decisions and contribution to the company production.
