Good day, everyone. My name is Edlene Marielle R. Toribio.

And for today, I will be talking about the

different struggles that most of us had during the pandemic, and come up with ways on how to deal and
eventually get rid of the quarantine blues that we experience and still enjoy life as it is!

To start off, COVID-19 is a respiratory illness that is characterized mainly by fever and cough, and is
capable of progressing to severe symptoms and in some cases, may lead to death. As the news broke
free, several people were alarmed. Different countries closed their borders, and immediately operated
precautionary measures, as this disease is spreading like wildfire. Classes on different grade levels were
suspended, malls and other establishments were closed, employees lost their job, and the whole world
suddenly came to a halt. What we thought as something temporary, is still causing massive destruction
on our lives. Many things have happened in the span of two years. Days, months, and years have passed,
but it seems like we are still where we are and only least progress has been made. Seems like we are still
on the same place where we have left off. Or so, that’s what we thought? Because we are stuck at our
own homes and can’t go outside freely anymore? We have to be more careful now not to catch even a
single strand of this virus to get into our body. The lack of physical contact, made us feel like we were
distance apart from each other. And as a result of isolating from the outside world, some of us
developed insecurities and anxieties or what we call “quarantine blues.” Questions like, “when will this
pandemic come to an end?”, “will I still be able to see my friends and loved ones?”, “will everything be
alright?” Those are the questions that keep lingering in our head as time flies. And while I was
contemplating, I came to the realization that we can still enjoy living our life in our four-wall home and
do the things that we love to do. Because of this, we are able to spend more time with our family and
somehow discover a new hobby or things that we’re actually good at! There’s writing, reading, playing
mobile games with friends, watching your favorite series, gardening, pottery, working out, meditation,
painting, listening to music, or anything that can cure your boredom and is productive. With the
expanding influence of technology, communicating isn’t that hard anymore. Different social media sites
can keep us connected to our friends and the outside world. And there’s nothing, not even an infectious
disease can stop us from doing the things that we love in the comfort of our own home.

To sum up, everything that has been stated, these quarantine blues or anxieties that we experience are
the one’s that keeps holding us back and prevents us from doing the things that we love even at our
home. To effectively get rid of it, we should all think that this is just all made up by our own minds and
that we shouldn’t pay attention to the negative things that our subconscious says and only focus on the
brighter and positive side for us to have a healthy mind, and enjoy life! Everything will get back to
normal, and we can all go outside again without worrying about having COVID-19
