1. What have you accomplished so far with your Capstone Project outside of class?
I have thought of a beginning outline and a foundation to create my character around, but haven’t
yet written down my ideas on paper yet. I have also seen videos made by professional artists to
passively build my knowledge regarding character design. Furthermore, I found a video to learn
from, and wrote two pages of notes regarding how a mangaka artist utilizes various conventions to
build practical and deep character design.

2. What do you plan to accomplish by the end of next week?

I plan to create a mood board or an inspiration board while consuming more information from
YouTube videos regarding the topic. I would also like to write down my ideas on paper and begin to
create a tangible story for the character I would like to design. Writing the motivations, goals,
community, and story of the character would be a starting point.

3. What are your needs (time, space, materials, personal contacts etc)?
Nothing much, just time to organize ideas. I already have all the materials that I require to begin
achieving the goals I set for the end of next week.

4. Have you encountered any obstacles or challenges so far, and how have you overcome them?
I faced many time constraints in the beginning of the capstone project, as I had an IA due, and many
other assignments that I had to finish for school. Additionally, finding a solid first footing to begin
working on the capstone project is difficult, as there are many strategies to tackle character design
created and preferred by different artists in the industry.
