CO., LTD., Ulsan, 682-792 Korea * Propeller Production Dept, Hyundai Heavy Industries. CO., LTD., Ulsan, 682-792 Korea Abstract An integrated riser heating equipment has been developed to control shrinkage defects originated from casting of a marine pro- pelle The integrated riser heating equipment is composed of upidown moving pars, heating power source parts ad an integrated controller. Heat capacity putting ino the riser was ealulated quantitatively onthe base of «heat transfer analysis, which consisted of the establishment of heating model and the theoretical analysis for heat transfer. The riser heating equipment was evaluated through are heating and electo-slag heating method. With the results, the are type heating method was selected by considering high thermal efficiency, inexpensive cos, and convenient workshp. This equipment improves the quality of a propeller casting andthe poor working environment Key words : Propeller casting, Riser heating equipment, Shrinkage defect, Arc heating, Electro -slag heating, Riser heat flax modeling. 1A Oe BH Fal ola] HAUlS] GPL Are} 77ho] = Saye] Ue dal see Sah aa Wasp ath.
