be verified with evidences and is
provable, observable and measurable.
Those are statements that can be
proven reliable authority or
information such as based on statistic,
scientific law, history book and
others.”

“For example; Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

is the former president of the Republic
of the Philippines.”
Why do you think it’s a fact? Marjorie: Because it is based on history book
Marjorie?” and provable.

E. GENERALIZATION
Let us have a recap regarding with the
discussion we have earlier. Who can
tell me the difference between facts
from opinion? MARY: A fact is a statement that can be
Yes, Mary? verified and can be proven to be true or false
through evidences. While, opinion is a
statement that expresses beliefs or a value
judgement.
Exactly! And according to the video
you have watched, the story of
Magindanao Pearls. How is it
important to distinguish facts from STUDENTS: (POSSIBLE ANSWER)
opinions?

Correct! So what do you think why

Lakambini hide the pearls and blamed ELZIE: Because of what the Alipin have
Sinagtala? Elzie? reported to Lakambini about Sinagtala and
Walang Gulat.

Yes! It was because of the information

Lakambini received from the Alipin.
And because of that, she carelessly
accused Sinagtala for stealing her
pearls even though she doesn't have
any evidences. So, the moral lesson of
the story is that we have to do a fact
check and it is important to gather
reliable resources of evidences before
jumping into uncertain conclusions.
Thus, determining facts from opinions
is important for the reason that we
have to avoid spreading fake news or
making false accusations based on
what we heard from other people that
may lead into misunderstanding.
