1. Introduction
This Occupational Profile provides details of the work demands and conditions
of Retail Sales Operation personnel as well as its employment prospects and
qualification.
2. Nature of Work
Retail Sales Operation personnel is responsible in stock and inventory
ordering, stock receiving, storage arrangement handling, non food
merchandising, food merchandising, product disposal and return, stock take
handling, customer services, cashiering handling and branch operation
support.
Important tasks for the Retail Sales Operation personnel are to ensure
imminent processes, implementation, human relation & satisfaction and not
withstanding organizational profit been executed accordance to organizational
goal.
3. Working Condition
The working condition of Retail Sales Operation personnel requires excellent
interpersonal skills, sound physical / mental agility, and the ability to cope in
challenging working condition.
The working conditions ensure the Retail Sales Operation personnel practices
good working habits and demonstrating good attitude especially when it
involves customers, retail operations procedures, occupational safety & health
guidelines, and organizational acknowledgement including profit. Proper usage

of sales tools, equipment and environmental requirements are highly needed
in performing tasks to ensure high quality of work performance.

Most retail operator spend long hours standing up, and the job may involve
lifting and carrying. However the shop floor is considered a vibrant and

basis.

as demonstrating high level of alertness. The Retail Sales Operation personnel

trained under this training occupation will be able to enhance their career in
becoming team leader/ assistant supervisor/ supervisor or undergo advance
training in the retail industries.
5. Qualification
This document is developed for company requirement training based on
National Occupational Skill Standard (NOSS) of Retail Operations
(Department) (DT-010-3:2014). Therefore, apprentices who fulfill the training

occupation of this Retail Sales Operation shall be awarded with a Malaysian
Skill Certificate up to Level 3 (K-Worker).
