B. Establishing a ENGAGE
purpose for the To start our day, I have here a 2 minute video entitled, “Voyage into the
lesson
world of atoms” by the European Council for Nuclear
C. Presenting
examples/instances Research (CERN)
of the new lesson What can you say about the video, Class?
Make a KWL chart, on a sheet of paper make a three columns
Label the columns as follows
1st column- KNOW

2nd Column- WHAT I WANT TO KNOW

3rd Column- LEARNED
For five minutes answer the following questions in the KNOW column and
fill out the WHAT I WANNT TO KNOW in the want area.
Now that you know the fact that atoms are indeed very small relative to
the ordinary objects we see in our daily lives. Let us now learn more about
the parts of an atom.
D. Discussing new EXPLORE
concepts and The Teacher will show a video presentation about the structure of atom
practicing new
and its particles. Instruct the learners to watch and listen carefully to the
skills #1
E. Discussing new video and take down notes some important points and it will be used later
concepts and on in the activity.
practicing new Activity 1. FOLD ME UP!
skills #2 1. Fold the papers in to half but fold one side one inch shorter
than the other side.
2. With the paper horizontal, fold the paper in three vertical
sections.
3. On these folds cut, the two folded lines so there are four
tabs.
4. Get another sheet of paper, write the word ATOM at the top
then put a three inches space. In this space, you will write the
definition of an Atom based on the video that you have watched.
5. After the three inches, space paste the folded sheets. In
addition, label the three tabs with PROTON, NUETRON, and
ELECTRON.
6. Under the three tabs, divide it into three columns by drawing
a line.
7. After dividing it, write something about PROTON,
NUETRON, and ELECTTRON, based from the video that you have
watched.
8. At the bottom of the whole sheet of paper copy and
complete this paragraph.
COMPLETE THE PARAGRAPH BELOW
The center of an atom is called the ____________. The
Nucleus is made up of two kinds of particles, the ___________ and
the ________________. Protons have a ________________
charge, and the neutrons have _____________charge. Most of the
atom’s mass is in the ______________. Tiny negatively charged
particles that orbit the nucleus in the ____________ are called
electrons.
9. Your output must be look like this.
