PROVINCIAL PARENTS TEACHERS ASSOCIATION FEDERATION OF COTABATO
HELD AT PARKLAY SUITES, KIDAPAWAN CITY ON NOVEMBER 8, 2023 AT

A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE SCHOOLS DIVISION SUPERINTENDENT MR.


ROMELITO FLORES, CESO V TO ISSUE AN MEMORANDUM REQUIRING ALL
PRINCIPALS AND TEACHERS-IN-CHARGE OF EVERY SCHOOLS COVERED BY
DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION COTABATO DIVISION TO INCLUDE THE
PARENT TEACHERS ASSOCIATION PRESIDENTS IN THE CRAFTING OF THE
SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN.

WHEREAS, the School Improvement Plan (SIP) is a vital instrument that guides the
strategic development of our educational institutions, outlining essential goals and initiatives
necessary for continuous improvement;

WHEREAS, meaningful parental engagement is crucial in fostering the academic and


holistic development of students, with research demonstrating its significant positive impact on
students outcome and school community involvement;

WHEREAS, Parent Teachers Association (PTA) Presidents are elected representatives


of parents and guardians, uniquely positioned to convey the collective voice of families, thereby
possessing valuable insights into the needs, expectations and aspirations of students and their
households;

WHEREAS, the inclusion of PTA Presidents in the SIP crafting process can foster
transparency, collaboration, and shared accountability, resulting in SIPs that better align with the
needs and goals of the entire school community;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Mr. Aldrin H. Otoc, duly seconded by Mr. Ritche J.
Gesulga, be it resolved that we, the undersigned, request the Schools Division Superintendent to
issue a Memorandum to all Principals within the Division of Cotabato, instructing them to

actively involve their respective PTA Presidents in the formulation and development of School
Improvement Plans;

FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Memorandum shall specify that PTA Presidents are
to be included in the SIP crafting Process:

1. Participation in SIP meetings, discussions and decision-making.


2. Contribution of Feedback on proposed initiatives and goals.
3. Collaboration with school staff to ensure alignment of SIP objective with the needs
and expectations of parents and guardians.
4. Facilitation of effective communication between the school administration the
broader school community.

FURTHERMORE RESOLVED that we encourage the Schools Division


Superintendent to promote an atmosphere of open dialogue between Principals and PTA
Presidents, facilitating constructive and meaningful participation in the SIP crafting process;

We firmly believe that the active involvement of PTA Presidents in the development of
School Improvement Plans will lead to a more comprehensive, well-informed, and community-
driven approach to school development. This will strengthen the partnership between parents,
teachers, and school administrators, ultimately benefiting the students and the school
community;

FINALLY RESOLVED that this resolution be presented to the Schools Division


Superintendent for consideration and prompt action in the interest of educational excellence
within our school district;
