How are you class? We’re fine Sir
It’s nice to hear that class.
Before we start our lesson, kindly pick up the (Pupils will pick up the pieces of dirt under
pieces of dirt under your chair and arrange their chairs and they will arrange it
your chairs accordingly. accordingly.)

When you are done, you may take your

seats. (Pupil will seat)

A.4. Checking of Attendance

Before we start our lesson, let’s check your Group 1, 2, 3, and 4
attendance first. Say “Ahu!” if there is no “Ahu!”
absent to your group and “Uwu with the
name of your absent” if there is an absent to
your group.

Very good class! Give yourself 3 claps (Pupil will follow)

Okay settle down class.

A.5. Checking of Assignment

On our last meeting I give you an assignment.
Bring out your assignment and pass it.

B. Review of the previous lesson

Before we start a new lesson, let’s have a
quick review. Bring out your paper and pencil
and answer this. You have 3 minutes to
answer this review question.
Direction: Illustrate how the particles of
Matter are arranged in the following objects.
Answer it on the space provided.
When you’re done we will check it, exchange
your papers with your seatmates.
Pupil will answer the review question

Are you done? If you’re done we will check it.

Exchange your papers with your seatmates
and write corrected by. Yes Sir

This one is Solid, the next one is Liquid and

the last one is Gas.

C. Motivation
Now that you already understand our topic
yesterday, it is time to learn something new.
But before that, let’s have a short game.
Class do you know how to dance?
That’s good to hear, are you ready? Yes Sir
Again, are you ready? Say it as loud as you Yes Sir, we are ready!
can. Yes Sir we are ready!

This game is called “Shake it”

Class, this is what you're going to do. I need 5
volunteers, for the volunteer students, I will
be giving 2 different liquid solutions and you
will be mixing them in the jar. And while they
are mixing and shaking it, the remaining
student will dance and sing the "Friut Juice
song"
Did you understand class?
Yes Sir
Teacher present the “Fruit Juice” Video
The 5 volunteer student will mix the given
solution and while they are mixing it the
remaining students are dancing and singing
the “Fruit Juice ” while shaking the mixture.

Yes Sir
Did you have fun?

That’s good to hear. Pupil # 1

Class what have you notice after you mix and Sir the solution combine and it turns into a
shake the given solution? juice.
Pupil #2
Sir the solution combine and it turns into a
coffee
Pupil #3
Sir when the two color combines it creates
another color
Pupil #4
Sir when we combine water and flour, we will
make a dough.
Pupil #5
Sir when the flour and sugar combines we
can still see the sugar unlike the other
mixtures.

All your answers are correct, now give

yourself “Perry!” clap. Pupil will follow the direction and do
3x clap “perry !” clap
3x Stump
“Perry good!”

D. Lesson Proper

Are you ready to explore the world of

Science? I think you’re now ready.

Now we will going to discuss the Mixtures Yes, Sir we are ready.
and their characteristics. As a Homogeneous
and Heterogeneous mixture.

What comes into your mind when hear the Pupil#1

word mixture? Sir it is a combination of materials or liquids.

Yes, it is correct. Class give his/her a Ang

Galing-galing Mo clap. 1,2,3.. go Pupils will give their classmate an ang galing -
galing mo clap.

Okay, When we say mixture it is a “Ang galing, ang galing… Ang galing-galing
combination of two or more substances in mo!” (points out their classmate)
which its substance retain its individual
chemical properties.

So everyday children most matter occurs as

mixtures. It is difficult to keep any substances
pure. Now let us take a look to the different
examples of mixtures. Say the name of what
you will see in the pictures I’m going to show.
Okay?

“Pizza, softdrinks, coffee, money, clothes and

LPG tank.”

So this are all examples of mixtures. And you

know what children mixture can take many
forms. It can be in any combinations of
Liquids, Solids and Gases.
So let us first discuss, What is mixtures of
Solids
But for you to understand here are some
examples.
A while ago we described mixture as a
combination of two or more substances. In
which its substance retain its individual
chemical properties and biscuit is one of the
examples of solid mixtures. We define solid
as firm and stable in shape. So biscuit is a
solid mixture, it is usually made from flour,
salt, butter and many more that makes it
became mixture of solid. So again, say it with
me. When we say solid it is firm and stable in
shape. Pupils will say, “When we say solid it is firm
Now let us proceed with the mixtures of and stable in shape”
liquid. In this mixture we define liquid as a
substance that flows freely. Our examples
are juice, liquid condiments, coffee and
sodas.

Why do you think all of this considered as

liquid mixtures? Anybody? Pupil#1
Sir because it doesn’t stable shape and it
Very good, class give her a fantastic clap flows.

1,2,3.. (claps) 1,2,3.. (stomps) Fantastic!

Pupils will clap and stomp 3x and say
“Fantastic!”
Back to our topic, Just like biscuit it is a
combination of different ingredients. For
example we have here a coffee. You cannot
have a coffee in just a cup of hot water. You
will be needing coffee powder and sugar.
Same as the other examples it is composed
of different substances being put together.

Is there any question so far?

Okay, everything is clear let’s proceed to the
mixtures of gases. None Sir

Gas is the state of matter that has no fixed

shape and no peaks volume. Gases have
lower density than other states of matter
mentioned before. Now our examples are
balloons, helium, oxygen, and an LPG gas.

But, how can we say that all of this is an

example of mixtures of gases. Balloons will
not float without helium. Helium is a kind of
gas that makes the balloon float in the air.
And by just putting helium in the balloon it is
considered as mixture.

Always remember children that a

combination of two or more substances in
which its individual chemical properties is
called mixtures and the same goes with other
examples. All right children you already know
the different forms that a mixture can take it
can be a solid, liquid and gas. Remember,
that mixtures are very common in our
everyday lives they are the air we breathe,
the food and drink we consume and the
fabrics we wear.

Again what are the forms of mixtures?

Pupil#1 Sir the forms of mixtures are solid,
Very good, give her a that’s very good clap. liquid and gas.
(Pupils will give her very good clap)
Before we proceed, is there any question?
Okay, if everything is clear let’s proceed to “That’s.. very.. good!”
the types of mixtures.
None Sir
Have you ever heard the word Homogeneous
and Heterogeneous?
Do you have any idea what does it mean? Pupil #1
Sir I’ve already heard that, heterogeneous
Okay, very good means different and Homogeneous means
Class give him a mosquito Clap the same.

Pupils will follow and give their classmate a

mosquito Clap.

1 mosquito, (clap), 2 mosquitoes (2 claps), 3

mosquitoes (3 claps).. many mosquitoes
There are two major types of Mixtures. The (claps)
first one is the heterogeneous it means
different and the second one is the
homogenous it means the same. In the
heterogeneous mixture you can see the
different parts or phases of the mixtures
easily. On the other hand, Homogeneous you
cannot see the different parts or phases
easily.

Again, heterogeneous it means different and

you can see the different parts or phases of
the mixtures easily. And when we say
Homogeneous, means the same and you
cannot see the different parts or phases
easily.
So let us take a look at the different examples
of Heterogeneous Mixtures.

We have here,
nuts, bowl of salad and pizza. As you can see
there are different parts and or pieces of the
mixtures that can be easily identified. Like for
example we have here a pizza, we are able to
see the different ingredients like pepperoni,
mushroom, olives and pizza dough as well as
the other ingredients on the top of pizza.
That’s why these examples of mixtures can
be identified as example of heterogeneous
mixtures.

Let’s see some other examples of

Heterogeneous mixtures. We have here
beach sand and air with clouds.

What have you notice to this examples?

Yes correct, Let’s give him a goodjob clap.

Pupil#1 Sir I’ve notice that the given
examples are not man made.
“G- double O, D, J, O, B, Goodjob! Goodjob!”
Pupils will do thegoodjob clap

The given examples are not man made unlike “G- double O, D, J, O, B, Goodjob! Goodjob!”
the examples given a while ago, these
mixtures are called naturally combined
mixtures. And they are part of the
Heterogeneous mixtures because we are able
to see the different parts and phase of the
mixtures.

Do you think beach sand is a Heterogeneous

mixtures? Raise your hand if yes.
Yes it is heterogeneous mixture because if
you look closely to the sand you will notice
the sand has different colors, and it includes The pupils will agree.
different kinds of shells. Same as the other (Pupils will raised their hands)
example which is the air with clouds, because
it contains tiny droplets of liquid water.
Okay now the next one is the homogeneous
mixture. Let’s take a look to the different
examples. As you notice from this examples,
you cannot see the ingredients that used to
create this examples. For example in the
coffee, you cannot see the coffee powder
and sugar as well as in the biscuit you cannot
see the flour and butter. The same goes with
other examples

So now let us take a look to the other

examples of Homogeneous mixtures. We
have here Vinegar and corn oil.

We cannot see the different ingredients in

the vinegar and same as in the corn oil
because it already undergo with the process
like for example before we can make a
vinegar it will undergo to a process called
fermentation. For us to be able to have
vinegar, and in the finished product we are
not able to identify where the different
ingredients go.

That’s all for our lesson for today. Are there

any questions or clarifications about our
topic?
Very good, give yourself a round of applause.
Say goodbye to your classmates.
I hope that you’ve learn something today.
None Sir.
(Pupils will say goodbye)
E. Application
What type of mixture will you perform when
you mix different candies in a container? Can
you still recognize the components of
mixtures? Pupil #1
It is a Heterogeneous mixture, Yes I can still
recognize the parts and phases of the
F. Generalization mixture.
The teacher will summarize the lesson by
asking the following questions:
A. What are the 3 forms of mixtures?

B. What are the 2 types of mixtures?

Pupil#1
The two forms of mixtures are solid, liquid
C. Differentiate the 2 types of mixtures. and gas.
Pupil#2
The two types of mixtures is Heterogeneous
and Homogeneous
Pupil#3
G. Valuing Heterogeneous it means different and you
Mixture is part of our everyday lives. All stuff can see the different parts or phases of the
that we come into contact within our daily mixtures easily. And when we say
lives exists in one of three states: solid, Homogeneous, means the same and you
liquid, or gas. The air we breathe, the food cannot see the different parts or phases
and drink we consume and the fabrics we easily.
wear. They are vital in a variety of ways.
