San Agustin ES Grander Than Before

I’d like to believe that San Agustin Elementary School is the best school in town. I often hear high remarks
from my relatives who studied in this school. They have their own fond memories to tell me either about their
past teachers or their funny experiences in school together with their elementary contemporaries. It is so nice to
hear that my loveones who were once learners of this school has so much to say about how seamlessly the
school was run by teachers who do well in their own field of expertise.
When I was in the early grades, I see the school as my huge playground. The first time I set my foot at the
school gate I was so exhilarated to come in and see what I can do within. I met a good number of friend
prospect aside from my neighbors who are also enrolled in the school. Mr. Rogelio Baxa, who was the school
principal that time welcomed us warmly and said we need to study hard to make our dreams come true.
It has been almost seven long years since then and I witnessed huge change from the first day I entered the
school. I now can read and can now understand the words written at the façade of our administration building.
Before, it was meaningless symbols to me only to realize later that those were some of the numerous awards the
school had received since its foundation. I saw a lot of different sizes of tarps hanged every now and then
showing the undeniable achievements of the school and its learners. These make me so proud that I am part of
the school.
Continuous improvement happens also to facilities and surroundings of the school. It only slowed down
during the time of the pandemic.
Ever since classes resumed our principal now, Mrs. Edwina C. Reginaldo also recommenced implementing
her planned projects with the support of our teachers and parents. They never cease to look for ways and means
to meet the needs of the school especially in improving the school ground.
This year I am fascinated to see how much it had changed. I appreciate the unparalleled efforts of everyone
so as to come up with such impressive corridors. I likened it to Fort llocandia Hotel wherein the floor tiles
speak of its grandness. It is so nice to see that the corridors have uniform tiles adding to its beauty. Corridors
aren’t only tiled but elevated so as to make sure that it will not be soaked with flood water. Creating this also
makes sure that we the school children can safely pass along the corridors without fear of getting our shoes
soaked with rain water during rainy season.
To match the improvement of the corridors and to better protect the new project, Mrs. Reginaldo extended
the eaves of the eastern buildings. This is to give extra protection to school children and classrooms against the
scourging heat of the sun and rains.
Another project was the new look of our flag pole. It was meticulously designed making it look simple yet
maintaining its beauty.
Additional flowering plants could also be seen blooming around the school. This adds up to a better
ambiance of the school. It makes it livelier place and creates a feeling that is close to nature.
I can just imagine how much effort our teachers and parents exerted just to make the plans into reality. These
projects were fulfilled through the help of a good number of good Samaritans. I know this because I saw a
metal plate posted on the wall of our administration building showing their names.
I could say that San Agustin Elementary is grander than before. And I would like to believe that it will
remain the same as long as there are responsible people around to maintain its grandeur both mentally and
structurally.
