PROJECT NAME: RENOVATION AND REMODELING OF NABUMALI CATTLE FARM HOUSE INTO
A MORE HABITABLE HOUSE FOR THE CATTLE.
CONTRACT AMOUNT: 6,173,000 UGX:
CONTRACT DURATION: TWO WEEKS
HANDOVER: 8TH July, 2022
COMPLETION DATE: 8TH July 2022
The contract duration was unspecific, however it was completed within a period of 2 weeks and
completion was effected as of 8th July, 2022.

Project Scope.
The renovation and remodeling of cattle farm house in Nabumali, involved;
Reduction of feeding trough height to allow for and cater for height of animals.
Running of HDPE pipe to allow for connection of water tanks from the underground well to the
two existing water tanks close to the farm house.
Removal of existing feeding trough floor layer by demolition to allow for a uniform floor level
of the feeding area. This involved purchase of aggregate to reinforce feeding area and drainage
trenches.
Fabrication of barriers at the entrance to limit unwanted entry of animals but also allow straight
entry for staff to feed the animals with minimum interference.
Fabrication of manhole covers reinforced with metallic angle lines and metallic plates.

Project Timelines.
The renovation and remodeling was completed on 8th July 2022.Works were executed within a duration of 2
weeks.

PROJECT CHALLENGES:
The Main challenges included:
Rainy weather in the area
Country wide Inflation of Material prices
Poor coordination from the local masons
RECOMMENDATIONS:
To attain full functionality the structure requires:
Provision of additional feeding areas/structures for scalability
Security Chain-link fence to deter vandalism and escape of animals
External Paving(finishing) to court yard to enable control of what the animals eat.
Provision of electricity for security reasons at night as well as observation of animals for 24hrs in case
of sickness or birth.
Provision of CCTV camera and security system to allow for monitoring of the premises.
CONCLUSION:
Works as per contractual obligations, have been completed on time and as per scope.

Way Forward:
Defects will be monitored and remedial works carried out, as funds for Implementation of
recommended works to enable premises attain full functionality are arranged.
