𝗲𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼 𝗱𝗲 𝗹𝗮 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮.

1. Learning outcome

At the end of the lesson, you and your team have a conversation about your best
birthday present (a technological device) by using grammar and vocabulary learned in
unit 3.

2. Description
a. Step 1: Choose one or two partners.
b. Step 2:
i. Make a list of the technological devices you received as birthday
presents. (You can also invent them.)
ii. As a group, you must describe and compare the birthday presents
you have chosen.
iii. You can use the following questions to help you:
1. What is the name of the technological device?
2. Why is it important to you?
3. What are its characteristics?
4. Which one is better/faster in comparison with others?
(use different adjectives)
5. What can/can't you do with your device?
c. Step 3:
i. Write a conversation about your last birthday presents
using the ideas from step 2.
ii. Remember, each one of you must describe and compare the
devices.
iii. Each one of you must make at least 2 questions.
iv. Use the vocabulary and grammar structures learned during this
unit: Comparatives and Superlatives, Can / Can’t.
v. When your conversation is ready, record a video to share it.

Attend the workshops, reinforce, and practice the topics of the week to do the task. You
can register at Portal del Estudiante or UTP+: Refuerzo Académico.

3. Considerations to record the video

a. Before recording the video
i. Work in pairs or groups of three.
ii. Keep in mind the time you have for the task.
iii. Use the grammar and vocabulary you have studied during the
week.
 iv. Avoid using translators and make sure your ideas are coherent.
v. Practice your pronunciation, intonation, and vocalization.
vi. Use a quiet place to record your conversation.
b. At the moment of recording the video
i. Show yourselves to the camera in a close-up or medium shot,
without covering your face.
ii. Avoid recording yourselves in the shadows or giving your back to
the light.
iii. Greet your audience and introduce yourselves at the beginning of
the video.
iv. Use correct pronunciation, intonation, and vocalization.
v. Use the correct volume of voice, it should be neither too high nor
too low.
vi. Use body language and show interest when listening to your
partners.
vii. Avoid reading your conversation.
viii. Use the time allotted for the task.
ix. Finish the video by saying goodbye to your audience.
c. After recording the video
i. Double-check your video before submitting it.
ii. If you have a link, make sure the access to your video is open.
