Project Title : United Nations Day “Equality, Freedom and Justice for All”
Date : October 26, 2023
Venue : NVC DVS Building for Elementary and Junior High School
I. Rationale:
United Nations Day is celebrated to commemorate the establishment of the United Nations (UN) on 24th
October 1945. The United Nations work as an intergovernmental organization to maintain friendly relations among
countries of the world and to promote peace and security on a global level.
The SAMANA-NVC, will help impart to all students of NVC about the relevance of the United Nations and
why it should be celebrated. This activity is a combination of learning and excitement through the different activities
that shall make aware of various cultures, and how people from different parts of the world can co-exist. In a way,
United Nations Day commemorates the formation of a new era in history – an era where equality, peace, and
cooperation are valued above war. These values heavily align with the mission and vision of the school – to be a
better citizen of our nation.
II. Objectives:
At the end of the activity, the organization should have:
Elicit among students the importance of the United Nations Celebration;
Established a strong bond and relationship between students and faculty;
Manifested a respectful community towards cultural differences around the world.
Showcased the wits and talents of the students of NVC.
V. Strategies:
Appointing of committee for each segment.
Checking the availability of all the equipment needed and venue.
Distribution of flyers and posting of online posters about the U.N. Day Celebration/Event.
Provide attendance sheet for all participants and students.
The student will be required to pay an amount of Php 10.00 for the registration fee for the different contest
they will enter (Paskilan, Poster Making, Quiz Bee and Poem Writing).

d. Guidelines
CONTEST MECHANICS
PASKILAN 1. Open for participation to all grade level and sections of Junior high department and in Grade
(BULLETIN 6 level only for the elementary department. (No limited number of participants per grade

MAKING) 2. The Paskilan or bulletin board making shall be a group competition comprised of five
members.
3. Each group shall bring the necessary materials such as the ½ illustration board and
decorations, attachments and other materials needed.
4. At the beginning of the contest the illustration board must be blank, pre-fabricated
materials are not allowed.
5. The bulletin board making must happen within the given time.
6. The Paskilan or bulletin board will be in a ½ size illustration board.
7. All the decorations and/or information shall be on the white side of the illustration board.
8. Any decorations or attachments shall not be more than six (6) inches over the edges of the
board.
9. The design and content must be aligned on the United Nations Theme, “Equality, Freedom
and Justice for All”
10. Items on the bulletin board may be purchased, hand designed, stenciled, die cut or
computer generated. Even though items can be purchased, this does not include purchasing
bulletin board sets and using the set as your bulletin board.
11. The bulletin board must show evidence of creativity and originality.

QUIZ BEE
1. Open for participation to all grade level and sections of Junior high department and in
Grade 6 level only for the elementary department. (No limited number of participants per
grade and per section)
2. The Quiz Bee shall be a group competition comprised of three members.
3. The contents in the questionnaires are comprised of basic knowledge about the United
Nations.
4. Each group shall bring the necessary materials for the quiz Bee such as the illustration
board, chalk, and eraser.
5. The participants are expected to be present in the venue at least 30 minutes before the
start of the Quiz Bee.
6. Participants must ensure that they already brought the necessary materials for the quiz Bee
such as the illustration board, chalk, and eraser.
7. The competition is divided into three rounds: the easy, average, and the difficult round.
Each correct item attained in the first round is equivalent to one (1) point. Correct items in
the Average round are equivalent to 2 points, while correct items achieved in the Difficult
round shall be equivalent to (3) three points. There shall be five (5) items in each round. In
case of tie for the championship podium, the groups who have attained the highest points
shall proceed to clincher round to determine the winner. The clincher round shall also have
5 item questionnaire each is equivalent to one point.

8. Questions shall be in Filipino and in multiple choice format in Easy and Average Round.
Identification type of Questionnaire shall be provided in the Difficult round and in Clincher
round.
9. The Quiz Master shall only read the question twice and thrice upon the request of
participants if the reading of the question appeared low and unclear.
10. Participants are not allowed to write their answers while the Quiz Master is reading the
question. Group participants who are found to violate this rule in multiple times shall be
banned to raise their answer.
11. Participants are given five seconds to write their answer upon the 'go' signal of the
facilitators. Upon time-up, finish or not, participants must raise their hand as quickly as
possible. Rewriting the answer is strictly prohibited and will result to point deduction.
POEM
WRITING 1. The contest is open to all students of Basic Education from Grade 6 to Grade 10
2. The participant may use either pure Filipino or English language.
3. It should be an original composition. (Copying of pieces from the internet or other sources
is strictly prohibited.)
4. The poem must consist of stanzas and four lines of each stanza.
5. The piece must be connected to the theme.
6. Do not use profane and harsh words
POSTER
MAKING 1. The contest is open to all students of Basic Education from Grade 6 to Grade 10
2. Each participant should submit ONE entry only.
3. The poster must illustrate, interpret, and emphasize the theme.
4. The theme for the poster making shall be: (theme)
5. All artworks must be done on the spot and must be completed within the allotted time
(hours).
6. The poster must be done in free hand using the following materials: (to be provided by
contestant)
• ¼ size illustration board •pencils
•oil pastel/other coloring materials
•marker
•other art materials that can be used in poster making.
7. All entries shall be judged by a Board of Judges.
8. The entries will be judged according to the following criteria:

1. The entry must be made in landscape orientation use 1/4 illustration board only.
2. The participants will be given 1 hour and 30 minutes before submission. The entry
should be submitted to the activity coordinator.
*Note: Paskilan, Quiz Bee, Poster Making, Poem Writing will require registration fee to enter the contest.

A pleasant day! The Samahan ng mga Mag-aaral na Nagpapakadalubhasa sa Araing Panlipun sa NVC
(SAMANA-NVC) club is holding an event for this month of October in line with the celebration of United Nations, the
United Nations Day Celebration with the theme “Equality, Freedom and Justice for All”, together with the Basic
Education Department of Northwestern Visayan Colleges this Oct 27, 2023.
We, the SAMAMA Club, are requesting if we could borrow cloth that will be of use to the said event.
