Dear Mr. Alderson,

I am writing regarding an internship within your scouting department for the upcoming
2022 season for the New York Mets. I came across the job opportunity while scrolling
through Indeed.com. I am a sophomore at Coastal Carolina University and will
graduate in the spring of 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Sport
Management.
As you read my resume, you will see that baseball is a common theme amongst my life
and my past employment. I have worked for the Ripken Experience for three years
working on the grounds crew. Although this has zero correlation to scouting, I viewed
the job as a steppingstone into the career path that I ultimately strive to be on. I played
baseball for 15 years of my life and know the sport like the back of my hand.
Additionally, I have worked with a local baseball academy as a secretary and during
my time there, I came across hundreds of professional baseball players and have
spoken to many of them at length as to what it takes to be a professional baseball
player and continuously picked their brains as to what they knew about the business
and scouting side of it all. I am technologically sound, a good communicator, I usually
respond to emails and texts withing the hour if not sooner. I am CPR Certified. I Work
well in a team setting. I present innovative ideas and am willing to learn new things and
would like to believe that I am a very quick learner in that aspect.
