Throughout the semester, I have seen significant improvement in my writing as a result of taking

the professional communications course. This improvement has been evident in several areas,
including my ability to effectively communicate information, use proper grammar and
punctuation, and craft persuasive arguments. The development of these skills has been a gradual
process resulting from the course material, feedback from my instructor, and practice.

One of the critical areas of improvement in my writing has been my ability to communicate
information clearly and concisely. At the beginning of the semester, I often struggled to
effectively convey my ideas in a way that was easy for others to understand. However, as the
semester progressed, I began to understand better how to structure my writing in an organized
and coherent way. Additionally, I have learned the importance of using headings, bullet points,
and other formatting techniques to make my writing more accessible and reader-friendly.
Another area of improvement in my writing has been my use of proper grammar and
punctuation. In the past, I have struggled with issues such as subject-verb agreement, punctuation
errors, and sentence structure. However, the professional communications course has provided
me with a thorough review of grammar and punctuation rules and opportunities to practice
applying these rules in my writing. As a result, I have become more confident in writing with
proper grammar and punctuation.

Furthermore, I have seen improvement in my ability to craft persuasive arguments. This has been
particularly evident in the assignments that required me to take a position on a particular issue
and support my viewpoint with evidence and logical reasoning. Through the feedback I received
from my instructor and classmates, I have learned how to strengthen my arguments by providing
compelling evidence and anticipating and addressing counterarguments. While I have seen
improvement in my writing throughout the semester, there are still areas that could be better
addressed in this course. For example, I believe that more focus could be placed on providing
opportunities for students to practice writing in different formats, such as memos, reports, and
emails. Additionally, additional emphasis on the revision process and peer review could help
students to further improve their writing. By incorporating these elements into the course,
students would have the opportunity to apply the skills they have learned in various real-world
contexts and receive constructive feedback from their peers.

In terms of my goals for this course, I set out to improve my written communication skills and
better understand how to convey information effectively in a professional setting. I feel that I
have met these goals due to the feedback and guidance provided by my instructor and the
opportunities to practice and refine my writing skills through various assignments. Going
forward, I believe the course could be revised to help other students meet similar goals by
incorporating more real-world examples and case studies to demonstrate the practical application
of the skills taught.
In conclusion, the professional communications course has been instrumental in helping me to
improve my writing skills. I have seen significant growth in my ability to communicate
information clearly and effectively, use proper grammar and punctuation, and craft persuasive
arguments. While there are areas that could be better addressed in the course, I feel that I have
met my goals for this course and have developed a solid foundation for future success in written
communication. I believe that by continuing to refine the course material and incorporate
additional real-world examples, prospective students can enhance their writing skills further and
achieve their own goals for the course.

The assignment that I am very proud of is the workplace correspondence. This was one of the
best grades I've received from a project grade this semester. I worked hard on my memo by
following examples from peer reviews and the instructor's example. This gave me a great idea of
what to follow and how to format my memo and email. I think the assignments we did were
significant, and nothing else I would add because the ones I did gave me a great idea of the
natural world and how to write emails and memos for a future job. I would edit my white paper
assignment because I could have done better if I had worked on it sooner since I was sick, and I
would have turned in better work than I did.
