1. Types of Adj

Tính từ ngắn (Short adj) Tính từ dài (Long adj)

1. Có 1 âm tiết: 1. Có 2 âm tiết (không kết thúc
Example: big, small, old bằng -y):
2. Có 2 âm tiết kết thúc bằng -y, Example: modern, pleasant,
–le,–ow, –er, và –et: dangerous…

Example:pretty, happy, 2. Có 3 âm tiết

heavy…. Example: difficulty,

3. expensive, intelligent…

Note: Có 2 âm tiết nhưng vẫn được xem là short adj

Example: clever, quiet, clever, simple, narrow,friendly…

Ex: bigger, smaller, older,… Ex: biggest, smalles, oldest,
2. Có 2 âm tiết(end-y, –le,–ow, …
–er, và –et): 2. Có 2 âm tiết:

Ex: prettier, happier, heavier, Ex: most + expensive,

… intelligent,…

3. Có 2 âm tiết : 3. Có 2 âm nhưng là short adj:

Ex: more + modern, pleasant, Ex: cleverer, quieter,…

dangerous,…
