Getting to know Jiji
Approximately _20__ minutes in duration

STUDENT LEARNING OBJECTIVE:


“I can write identify shapes in different environment”

MEASURABLE ACHIEVEMENT GOAL:

Given an ipad with ST Math app, students will log-in and play games 4 games in ST math with
90% accuracy in 8 minutes.

MATERIALS REQUIRED:
 Ipad
 ST Math app
 Google slides

PROCEDURE:
1. Lesson Introduction (10 min):
Students will be introduced to Jiji, the mascot of ST Math. Games will be played
in a whole group to get students excited to play with Jiji in centers. Jiji will be
passed around.

2. Guided Lesson (3min):


Students will be shown how to log-into the app on the iPad. They are given
unique codes that have their name on them to ensure they can access their
account.

3. Independent Practice (8min):


Students get to play the Jiji games at their own pace during the 8 minutes
allotted.

4. Closing the Lesson (5 min):


Talkwith the students in whole group again to discuss how they played with Jiji and
got them excited for the next lesson.
ASSESSMENT:

As students progress through ST math, their results are recorded through the website.
This gives the teacher easy access to see if students are understanding the information
being taught.

ADDITIONAL SUPPORTS FOR LEARNING:


Visuals are used for students who need more help.
Ipads can be locked to ensure students stay on the one app.
