The benefits of engaging

• You will always gain more by having a go, than

being invisible

• Again, this is preparation for practice

• Law firms want proactive, client-focussed lawyers who
get stuck in and solve clients’ problems
• They are not interested in invisible lawyers!

• Firms are likely to encourage flexible working

• You are practising collaborative skills to enable this
• Gives you an advantage over other students in
employability terms
‘Student Centred Learning’

Means:

• Taking responsibility for your own learning

• Preparing, engaging, consolidating
• Thinking and acting like a lawyer
• Understanding that the practical & professional
application of the law is key to Ulaw’s approach
to study
• Being able to develop and flourish in a new
online educational and professional environment
