3. Contestants may get directly the application form at the University Cyber Center
(Sumacab), University Student Government Office (Sumacab and GT), or u can

4. A participating band will be required to perform genre one OPM cover song
(cover a choice of its own), and 1 original composition/ a self-composed with a
theme about “Balik Eskwela”. A copy of the original and self- composed song to
be performed will be submitted to the organizer 3 days before the grand finals.
The piece will be computerized and written on long bond paper.
6. Eliminations will be held at the Nieto Hall on March 15, 2023 at 8:00 AM to
6:00 PM. Band must prepare 1 cover song for the Elimination.
7. Elimination winners will advance to the grand finals and will be the official
contestants of the competition.
8. Contestants on the grand finals must be on the contest venue one hour before
the contest.
9. The grand finals will be on March 28, 2023 at 5:00 PM onwards, NEUST
Grandstand Sumacab Campus
11. A drum set will be provided by the organizers as the official drum set of the
competition. Performers are required to bring their own musical instruments
even in Elimination Round.
12. Band group who will not meet the guidelines and mechanics of the competition
will not be allowed to perform.
14. The awarding of winners will be announced after the contest is ended.
1. The official participating bands will perform two (2) songs: one (1) for warm
up/instrument tuning/vocalization which will not be judged or will not form part of
the judging, Original Composition and; one (1) Cover song as official contest piece
which will be the subject of judging.
2. The warm up song will have a maximum duration of two (3) minutes. The contest
piece/official song will have a maximum duration of five (4) minutes. Two (2)
minutes are allotted for stage preparation. Thus, each participating band has a total
of ten (10) minutes to be on stage.
3. The 10-minute stage performance limitation shall be strictly observed. If they
exceed beyond 10 minutes, all sounds will be turned off without hesitation. A 10%
deduction will also be charged against the total percentage given by the panel of
judges.
4. Instrument exhibition by band members is allowed as long as they are within the
10-minute stage limitation.
5. JUDGES’ DECISION IS FINAL.
