DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN TLE

Computer System Servicing

I. Objective
At the end of the lesson the student should be able to:
1. Identify parts and functions of Analog Multi-meter;
2. Measure some Electronic Components using Analog Multi-meter; and
3. Appreciate the importance of Analog Multi-Meter.

II. Subject Matter

Topic : Proper Use of Multi-meter in Electronic Component
Learning Materials : TV, Laptop,
Visual Aids : PowerPoint Presentation, Pictures, Multi-meter, resistor, Battery

III. Procedure
Teacher’s Activity Student Activity
A. Prayer
- May I request everybody to (student will stand and pray)
stand up and pray
B. Routinary Activity
1. Greetings
- Good afternoon class! How - Good afternoon ma’am. We are
are you today? doing well ma’am
2. Securing and Ordering
Cleanliness
- Before we start, kindly pick up - Yes ma’am
the pieces of paper under your (student will arrange pick up all the
chairs and arrange your chair paper and arrange their chair)
properly.
- Alright! You may now take
your seat.
3. Attendance
- Who is absent table no. 1? (Student will say who is the absent by
Table no. 2? Table no. 3? and table)
last table no. 4?
C. Review
- Okay class, before we start our
discussion for today, let’s have
a short review to our previous
lesson.

- So class, what was our last (student will raise their hand)
topic?

- Yes Nathaniel - Ma’am our last topic is wire

termination
- Very Good! What does it mean - Wire termination is performed when
when we say wire termination the device requires a contact or
alexander? terminal

- Precisely! So in wire - Ma’am O-Ring Termination and

termination we have two Power cable Termination
methods. Can you please name
it Jamaica?
- Very Good. I’m glad that you
still remember our last topic.
- So now let’s proceed to our
next lesson.
D. Presentation
1. Activity
The teacher will ask the following
questions:
(teacher will show of picture)

a) What is this picture? - Ma’am outlet

- Yes its outlet, so what do we
measure in the outlet angelyn? - Voltage ma’am
- Very good. Next picture

a) What is the picture? - Battery ma’am

- Correct its battery. What do we
measure in the battery kristal? - Ma’am current
- Very Good! Last picture.

b) What is the picture? - Ma’am resistor

- Yes its resistor, what do we
measure in the resistor
bernalyn? - Resistance ma’am
- Very Good.
2. Analysis
- Base in the voltage, current,
and resistance. What is the
device that we use to measure (student will listen carefully)
all of those?
- So that’s a multi-meter and
that will be our lesson for
today. - A multi-meter or a multi-tester, also
3. Abstraction known as a VOM (Volt-Ohm meter),
- So what is multi-meter can you is an electronic measuring
please read Aljur. instrument that combines several
measurement functions in one unit.
- okay, thank you Aljur

Let’s go back to the picture you

said that in the outlet we measure
voltage. When used in this way, a
multi-meter is known as voltmeter
because it measure voltage.
Next the battery we measure
current multi-meter is known as
ammeter and last the resistor we
measure resistance multi-meter
known as ohmmeter.

Types of Multi-meter

This lesson we focus in analog

multi-meter. - An analog multi-meter (AMM) is a
multi-purpose electronic testing device. A
- what is the analog multi-meter unit will be capable of measuring
please read Dan Rence voltage, current, and resistance and often
has the functionality to test for frequency
and signal power as well.

- Okay thank you Dan Rence.

Analog multi-tester it range can be
easily adjusted. It can easily find
and detect measurement for some
electronic components like testing
resistor

Now let’s proceed to the part of

Analog Multi-meter.

Parts of Analog Multi-meter

- Pointer - This is the needle-shaped

1. Pointer can you please read rod that moves over the scale of a
abegail meter.

- Scale- This is how you read the value

2. Scale can you please read Rizza being measured. This is a series of
markings in a semicircle.
- Zero Position Adjuster - Also known
3. Zero Position Adjuster. Jaimaca as the dial or infinity knob. This
can you please read. allows you to adjust the pointer to the
zero position of the scale – usually
with the help of a flat head
screwdriver.

4. Range Selector Knob, Joren - Range Selector Knob This allows you
please read to adjust the settings of the multi-
tester. Using this you can change
what the multi-tester is measuring
(e.g. voltage, current, or resistance),
as well as the range of the
measurement.
5. Test Probes angeline please read
- Test Probes - They are able to
establish an electrical connection
between a multi-tester and the DUT
without exposing electrical workers
to live conductive parts.
6. Zero Ohm Adjuster Knob,
Geoffrey please read. - Zero Ohm Adjuster Knob - The zero-
ohm adjustment knob is used to
calibrate the multi-tester when you
want to measure the resistance of an
object.
Just remember…!
Operation and Safety
Store in dry and safe place
Highest range to choose in measuring
AC and DC volts
Range setting should be observed off or
set in 1000 ac volts range when
not in use
Magnetic material can affect the life
span of the multi-meter
Never drop the multi-tester

4.Application
Class let’s have a group activity.
Each table is 1 group. We have
four tables so there will be four
group. Those sitting in armchairs, I (students will do the activity)
will assign in each table.
Each group will be given 1 Analog
Multi-tester, 1 9V battery, 1 pc
Resistor. You’re going to test each
components to know how analog
multi-tester works.
I will choose 1 group to share their
experience on how they use the
Analog multi-tester.
IV. Evaluation
In the board I have an empty frame of Analog Multi-tester. Class I randomly call a name who
will put Analog Multi-tester part and tell its function.

V. Assignment
Search the meaning and functions of resistor.
