After personal value discovery, entrepreneurship discovery about
socio-economic development, and assessment of our personal entrepreneurial competencies, we now move on to module 4 which talks about the discovery of new ideas and opportunities by assessing and exploring the problems that we face in our society. This module shows us the importance of environmental and societal scanning in terms of business in order for entrepreneurs to understand the larger situation in their surroundings. By doing so, we can identify consumer demands, events, gaps, and trends that will influence the business. With these information, we can have a great foundation and new opportunities in the business as we know where to start our business and what we want our business to become. We can successfully evaluate the internal and external environment of the business by using the strategic planning tool called SWOT analysis, which stands for Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat. This planning tool is used to evaluate and understand our strengths and weaknesses, and for identifying the opened opportunities and threats that we might face in the business. By doing so, it can help us in aligning our strategic decision making with market dynamics for long-term success.
