48 HOUR SERVICE CHECK Issue 01

The 48 Hours Service check shall be performed at each night stop, but shall
not exceed 48 Hours elapsed time, where BLX have a line station with own Registration
personal or has a contracted Part-145 line maintenance organization. The 48 Date
Hours service check does not include any PFI items. Station
Performing 48 Hours Service Check does not exclude performing PFI. Prior
ETOPS sector 48 Hours service check must be performed by an ETOPS
approved person.

ETOPS Visually check the Fwd Cargo Compartment Lining to verify integrity of compartment

sealing and fire suppression nozzles are free from obstruction.

3 ETOPS Visually inspect the condition of the lower lobe forward cargo door seals and installation.

ETOPS Visually check the Aft Bulk Cargo Compartment Lining to verify integrity of compartment

sealing and fire suppression nozzles are free from obstruction.

5 ETOPS Visually inspect the condition of the bulk cargo door seals and installation.

ETOPS Visually check the Aft Cargo Compartment Lining to verify integrity of compartment sealing

and fire suppression nozzles are free from obstruction.

7 ETOPS Visually inspect the condition of the aft cargo door seals and installation.

ETOPS Fwd & Aft Cargo Compartments – Inspect (general visual) the cargo compartment floor,
8 ceiling and sidewall panels/liners for holes/ tears, condition and security IAW AMM 25-52-00.

Inspect the toilet compartments for cleanliness and obvious defects.


Check all ashtrays inside and outside are fitted and secure.
Carry out a detailed inspection of the lavatory waste receptacle enclosure access doors, disposal
24 doors and self-closing entry flaps for condition, proper operation, sealing, fit and latching IAW AMM
25-41-00/601.
Make sure receptacle stowage compartment is clean and remove all debris.
NOTE: This task satisfies the requirements of FAA AD 74-08-09. (MPD 25-006-00)

25 Check emergency exits are secure.

26 Carry out a physical inspection to confirm the correct quantity and condition of infant life jackets.

27 Carry out a self-test of the lavatory smoke detector system IAW AMM 26-13-00/501.

Check emergency lights, exit lights and floor proximity lighting for operation, condition and security

IAW AMM 33-51-00.

29 Check door girt bar areas for cleanliness.

ETOPS Operationally check the Hydraulic Motor Generator (HMG) IAW AMM 24-25-00/501 or Ops
30 manual part B.
NOTE: Applicable to Airplanes with HMG. (MPD 24-013-00)

ETOPS Carry out Standby Power Operational long test IAW AMM 24-33-00/601.

Check crew oxygen pressure on EICAS, ensure above 1000 psi IAW MEL 9.35.11-2 1. (Raise an ADD

if pressure is between 1001 and 1100 psi).

Functionally test the flight deck door security lock as follows:


NOTE: Applicable to aircraft incorporating SB 767-25-0325 or 767-25-0327 or 767-25-0332
1. With the Flight deck door open, set Flight Deck Access System (FDAS) switch, on the door
chime module to NORM, ensure keypad red LED is on.
2. Key in 123ENT, on the keypad, and ensure that a continuous tone is heard, red keypad LED
goes out and amber LED illuminates.
3. Ensure “AUTO-UNLK” light on the P5 panel is on.
4. Select DENY on the P5 panel and release, ensure “AUTO-UNLK” light goes off, and that the
39 amber LED on the keypad goes off, and the red LED comes on.
5. Enter flight deck, close the door, ensure it cannot be pushed open, ensure that no further tones
are heard for one minute.
6. Select “UNLCKED” ensure a click is heard from the door solenoid, release the door switch.
7. Rotate door handle and open the door, key in 123ENT and ensure that the following sequence
occurs: a continuous tone is heard for 30 seconds with flashing “AUTO-UNLK” light. After tone,
ensure door solenoid energizes for 5 seconds and green keypad LED is on. After 5 seconds
green LED goes out and solenoid relaxes.
1. 8. Set Chime module FDAS switch to off, ensure lock fail light (P5) comes on.

Ensure that all outstanding defects reported on the Cabin Defect Reporting form have been

transferred into the Technical Log.

For the planned flight/series of flights: Review Technical Log workorders for repair interval

compliance and deferred workorders effect on planned flights.

Before first flight every day print a new Aircraft Status Sheet from AMOS and replace in ATL .
44 Note: All pages of printed Aircraft Status Sheet shall be inserted in ATL and old printed
Aircraft Status Sheet shall be discarded.

Ensure ATL binder contains sufficient number of flight log and workorder sequences to last
45
until next planned 48 Hrs service check.

46 Certify 48-hour Service Check in the Technical Log.
