Location: Muranga, Gikoe Area (90% time on field)

About the company

We are a dynamic start-up in the renewable energy sector developing both on-grid and off-grid renewable
energy projects. Our mission is to provide reliable, affordable and sustainable access to energy in regions that
do not have this today.

We use an innovative solution that relies on the most efficient, affordable and sustainable source of energy:
hydropower. We harvest the power of running water and then transform it into electricity that is supplied to
the national grid or distributed directly to households and businesses.

We develop small hydro projects from A to Z meaning we identify suitable locations, assess the technical &
economic feasibility, we then design, finance & build the power plants and remain involved in the maintenance
& operations once the plant is operational.

Job Summary

As part of our continued growth in Kenya and the EAC region, we are looking for a Sales Specialist.

The successful candidate will identify and contact potential businesses and household customers. The sales
specialist will also carry out activities like making sales pitches, negotiating deals, collecting deposits, and closing
contracts. Additionally, the sales specialist will lead appliance leasing discussions and collect deposits for our
appliance leasing program. A sales specialist's objective is to close deals and generate revenue. This requires
persistence, good communication skills, and the ability to handle objections to achieve targets.

Duties and Responsibilities

New customer acquisition and customer revenues

• Identify potential customers or leads by visiting door to door, church visits, Barazas, community
meetings, referrals or any other method given.
• Map customers along the grid in our database program.
• Qualify potential new customers according to pre-specified criteria.
• Understand and explain our pricing strategy to customers.
• Collect deposits and signatures from potential customers.
• Explain our power supply agreement to customers.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with customers, such as payment terms, delivery dates, and other
relevant details.
• Maintain sales reports and provide regular updates to the Local sales officer on their sales performance.
• Increase consumption of existing customers through appliance leasing.
Customer Service

• Build strong relationships with customers and maintain regular contact with them to keep them
engaged and informed about new products or services.
• Address customer service complaints through handling incoming calls(night).
• Coordinate with technical team or local sales officer to resolve issues in timely matter.

Key Performance Indicators: Deposit collected; New Customers connected.

Skills & Experience

• Diploma/Certificate in Sales and Marketing


• Minimum 1 years of relevant experience
• Ability to speak the Local Language

• Proactive, high levels of maturity, professionalism, and personal integrity.


• Methodical and organized, autonomous & responsible and attention to details.
• Solution oriented: ability to identify a problem and develop adequate solutions proactively.
