OF THE LAND OWNED BY THE MUNICIPAL GOVERI{MEI{T OF SAN ROCIUE TO BE USED AS AI{
EVACUATION CENTER AND MULTI-PURPOSE FACILITY OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF SAN ROQUE,
NORTHERN SATAR.

WHEREAS, Republic Act No.10121 oherwise known as ?n Act Strengthening The Philippine
Disaster Risk Reduction and Management System, Poviding for the National Disaster Risk Reduction and
Management Frameworft and lnstihrtionalilng he National Disaster Risk Reduclion and Management
Plan, Appropriating Funds Therefore and For Other Purposes'.

Section 2 par. (g) of RA. No. 10121, provides that it shall be tte policy of the State to mainslream
disaster risk reduction and climate change in developmenl processes such as policy formulation,
socioeconomic development planning, budgeting, and govemance, particularly in the areas ofenvironment,
agriculture, water, energy, healh, educatjon, poverty rcduction, land-use and ufian planning, and public
infrastructure and housing, among ohers;

WHEREAS, Republic Act No.9729, othenrise known as "An Act Mainstreaming Climate Change
lnto Govemment Policy Formulations, Establishing he Framework Strategy and Program on Climale
Change, Creating For This Purpose The Climate Change Commission, And For Other Purposes;

Section 2 (5h eor) of RA. No. 9729 provides that the State recognizes that climate change and
disaster risk reducton ae closely inbnelated and effective disaster risk rcduction hat will enhance climate
change adaptive capacity and he State shall integrate disaster risk reduction into dimate change programs
and initiatives.

UYHEREAS, the Local Govemment Units are tasked to provide adequate evacuation center and
other related multfi:urpose facilities in preparation for the disaster progrlms and proiecb that will
immediately response he calamities;

WHEREAS, the Municipal Govemment of San Roque has identifed portion of a land owned by the
said LGU at Sitio Cabaywa, Barangay Zone 3, San Roque, Norfiem Samar;

IYHEREAS, tris prolect aims to help and response he needs of he people of San Roque,
especially in the coastal area in times of calamities;

ilOW, THEREFORE, upon motion made of SB Member Dante C. Tan duly seconded by SB
Member Hilario S. Acebuche, be it.

RESOLVES as it ishereby RESOLVED to authorize the Municipal Mayor Don L. Abalon To

Allocate Portion Of A Land Owned By The Municipal Govemment Of San Roque To Be Used As An
Evacuation Center and Multi-Purpose Facility O( The Municipality Of San Roque, Northem Samar.

RESOLVED FURTHER, to dkect the Municipal Engineering ffice, thru Engr. Roel A. Morales to
conduct survey on he identified portion of a land at Sitio Cabaywa, Barangay Zone 3, San Roque, Northem
Samar as to the exet localion of he abovementioned land and to submit the same and he necessary
actions to be taken in relation thereforc.

RESOLVED F|I{ALLY, that approved copies of this resolution be fumished to he Office of

Honorable Jose L. Ong, Congressman F Distict of Norfiem Samar, and lo the Office of Honorable Don
L. Abalon, Municipal Mayor of San Roque, Northem Samar for their reference.
