yourself which is conveyed through a comedy. This film was broadcast on December 19 2019, the main

Interpretation recount

Tells the story of Rara (Jessica Mila) who was born with fat genes and brown skin, inherited from her
father. Meanwhile, her sister Lulu (Yasmin Napper) follows the genes of their mother Debby (Karina
Suwandi), who was a former model in the 1990s. Rara herself works as a research manager at a
cosmetics company. Even though she received unpleasant treatment from the surrounding
environment, Rara loved her job. Luckily there is Dika (Reza Rahadian), a lover who loves Rara for who
she is. One day, an opportunity arose for Rara to move up in the office, but Rara's boss, Kelvin (Dion
Wiyoko), required Rara (Jessica Mila) to completely change her appearance. In the end, Rara (Jessica
Mila) went on a diet.
After Rara (Jessica Mila) succeeded in following her diet for one month, she was finally able to take a
position as marketing manager at the company where she worked. Rara's life changed drastically, she no
longer received bad treatment because of her body shape. Rara is more confident than before.
However, with these changes, Rara's attitude also changed. Rara, who was originally friendly and kind,
turned arrogant. Because of this change in attitude, Rara ended up fighting with her boyfriend (Dika).
Dika (Reza Rahardian) was very disappointed with Rara's changes, and asked Rara to return to the way
she was before. Rara's life did not go according to her expectations. In the end, Rara realized that body
shape was not important. Rara began to be grateful for herself and returned to being the same Rara she
used to be.

Evaluation

The film Imperfect has several shortcomings, including conversations that use inappropriate language,
so this film is not suitable for minors to watch. Apart from that, there is a lack of depth in character
depiction. However, apart from these shortcomings, this film also has many advantages. Telling a story
that is appropriate to the current situation allows the audience to feel how someone who experiences
body shaming feels. This film can also teach viewers to always be grateful to ourselves and not be
arrogant about what we have. This film is very suitable for teenagers to watch. Imperfect films can be
our inspiration in real life.

Sumary:

imperfect is a film that is suitable for teenagers and above because it makes us more confident, not
easily insecure, and enthusiastic about changing ourselves to be better. This film is interesting for many
people and can help anyone to relate to it.

teaches the audience by showing that whatever the circumstances, there will always be things in us that
can make us insecure. Parents can watch this film without feeling patronized because maybe Debby did
something wrong with Rara and Lulu. This film teaches us to live our lives with gratitude for what God
has given us. That feeling of gratitude is what makes us accept ourselves in the best version
