What is Agriculture?
Agriculture is the practice of growing crops and rearing animals
for food, medicine and other uses. Preparation of these crops and
animals for sale and marketing them is also part of agriculture.

Agriculture is important to all of us


We get food from crops and animals reared on
the farms.
(a) From animals such as cattle, goats, sheep,
chicken and rabbits, we get meat.

(c) We get milk from cows.

(d) We get mealie meal from maize and


sorghum. Mealie meal is used to cook
sadza and porridge.

(e) We get bread from wheat.
