What was our topic last meeting? Yes, Maika?
About circle.
Ok, thank you. Last meeting we discussed about the terms
related to circle. What are those words that are related to
circle?
Diameter
Drill
Ok. So, I have here a circle and a chart. As you can see, the
chart is full of words which you can use to answer in the
blank space on the circle
Yes, Joan.
Me, teacher.
Excellent, Joan. So, radius is the half of the diameter. Let’s .
clap our hands for Joan. Radius.
Next?
Me, teacher.
Go ahead, Angel.
Chord.
That’s correct, Angel. Chord is a line segment joining two
points on the circle. By the way, what’s the difference
between a chord and the diameter?
Teacher every diameter is a chord and diameter is the
longest chord.
Very good, Ericson. I’m happy that you still remember that.
Let’s proceed to the next number.
Me, teacher.
Ok, Maylove.
Segment.
Very good Maylove. Segment is a part of the circle
separated from the rest of a circle by a chord. Let’s clap our
hands for Maylove.
Go ahead, Maricel.
Point of contact.
You got it right, Maricel. This point is what we call the point
of contact. It is where the tangent touches the circle.
Motivation
What animal did you form out of those shapes, team cat?
A cat!
That’s right. Who have cats in their home? Are they
friendly? Me. Yes.
What animal did you form out of those shapes, team dog?

That’s right. Have you ever seen a cow already?
Yes, teacher.

clap.
1, 2, 3, darna! 1, 2, 3, darna!
B. Development
Presentation
Our topic for today is polygon. Did you know that we are
living in a world full of shape or polygons? Because we all
use shapes. Just like what we played earlier, through
shapes we are able to form an image. And all the activity we
do include shapes, like for example when we are cooking. If
you like to cook and you are making something that requires
you to cut it, you probably cut it into a certain shape. For
example, brownies into square, pizza into triangle. In other
words, shapes help us classify objects in real life.
