Procrastination and Academic Burnouts and Keeping the mind Healthy in the New
Normal, in the first topic, the Managing Procrastination and Academic Burnouts
tackles about its definition and cause and effects. So, the Procrastination is when we
avoid or postpone doing something that we know is important, either to us or to
others, it typically occurs when we fear or even dread doing a difficult activity. We
engage in activities that briefly improve our mood in order to avoid these unpleasant
emotions. The cause and effects of procrastination is people who procrastinate
suffer from lower well-being and higher levels of stress and anxiety, which can
reduce self-esteem and lead to depression. The second topic is about Keeping the
mind Healthy in the New Normal, Throughout the pandemic, many of us have
changed the way we think about hygiene and making sure we do everything possible
to stay safe and healthy. The things we learnt when we were young and are common
sense to us now have all been reinforced during the pandemic. This includes
washing our hands after going to the bathroom or before eating at the dinner table.
The ‘new normal’ has become our new way of living with the continuous risk of a
COVID-19 outbreak. In the new normal, we need to remember behaviors we’ve
learnt to make sure we’re healthy and safe into the future. Living this new normal
life helps to stop the spread of COVID-19 and the spread of other germs and
illnesses.

In conclusion, through this webinar conduct by the University of Mindanao

realized me as a student because I also procrastinate, like for example instead of
studying or reviewing I prefer do it when the deadline/exam is near or I also called “if
deadline/exam tomorrow, I do it now”. So, through this and the explanation of the
speaker it realized me that by procrastinating will lead me a high level of stress and
anxiety and it also led me to a depression. And lastly, the last topic about keeping
the mind healthy in the new normal, in the new normal, we need to remember
behaviors we’ve learnt to make sure we’re healthy and safe into the future. We do
not know how long this virus will be around for. We all need to work together to
ensure we are doing the right thing for our friends, family and our community, to stop
the spread.
