Welcome to Technology and Livelihood Education, Project Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM)
Module on Produces Simple Products.

This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by educators both from
public and private institutions to assist you, the teacher or facilitator in helping the learners
meet the standards set by the K to 12 Curriculum while overcoming their personal, social, and
economic constraints in schooling.

This learning resource hopes to engage the learners into guided and independent learning
activities at their own pace and time. Furthermore, this aims to help learners acquire the
needed 21st century skills while taking into consideration their needs and circumstances.

What is an Entrepreneur?

An entrepreneur is a person who meets the needs


of the people by fulfilling their demands for the products
and services. An entrepreneur plays a vital role in society
because he or she contributes to economic development
by helping build industries. A successful entrepreneur
must combine knowledge and skills with the proper
attitude, values, and personal attributes.

Qualities of an Ideal Entrepreneur

1. Industrious - An entrepreneur must display hard work and perseverance in the


face of challenges. Skills are utilized to diligently carry tasks or make goods.
2. Innovative – An entrepreneur must have the ability to envision future needs or
demands and to make new opportunities, products, and services to satisfy these
demands.
3. Honest – An entrepreneur does not engage in deceptive or fraudulent acts.
4. Persistent – An entrepreneur does not easily give up or let go.
5. Caring – An entrepreneur understands the feelings, concerns and desires not
only of his or her costumer but also of his or her workers.
6. Helpful – An entrepreneur is always available to provide assistance.
7. Faith in goodness and righteousness - An entrepreneur conducts business
fairly and cultivates a culture of righteousness.
8. Organized yet flexible - An entrepreneur is able to adapt to any change yet
remain logical and organized.
9. Confident – An entrepreneur feels or shows certainty, as a point of modelling
success.
10. Strategist – An entrepreneur is a careful planner. He or she sets long-term goals
and plans and executes a well-thought of strategy in order to achieve them.
11. Proactive – An entrepreneur immediately acts on new ideas, insights and
opportunities, always in step with changes in one’s environment and applying
them to one’s business.
12. Prudent - An entrepreneur is never wasteful and always ensures that all
resources and every resources or materials are utilized.
13. Determined - An entrepreneur is a go-getter and an achiever; acting on a
dream, vision and plan no matter how hard it may seem at first.
14. Knowledgeable - An entrepreneur is well-trained and possesses information
and understanding on concepts necessary to run on a business venture.
15. Driven by high-quality philosophy - An entrepreneur strives for excellence
and perfection to exceed customer satisfaction.
16. Risk-Taker – An entrepreneur takes calculated risks and knows how to match
opportunities with market realities. He or she takes on risk anticipating business
profitability and chances of success.

What is product?

A product is something that is created or produced


following a process or grown and developed in order
to be sold for a profit. There will always be demand for
products that will satisfy a person’s basic needs like
food, clothing, and shelter.

What is service?

A service is a transaction in which one offers a


work without physical goods to someone. Some
examples of service are: salons which offer hair
care and hairstyling services; travel companies
that offer transport services; and spas and
wellness centers that offer massages, skin care
treatments, etc. There are also different services
that are available for each type of customer.

Things to remember in producing simple products

1. Start with your hobby or interest.


2. Produce something that you can sell to your neighborhood.
3. Start small before you think of producing bigger quantities.
4. Keep your cost down while maintaining the quality of your product.
5. Make sure to canvass and find out where you can get your materials and supplies
in the best price available.
6. Purchase ingredients in a store or market that sells fresh products.
7. Packaging must be in good quality to attract costumer.

An ideal entrepreneur desires to ascertain business that will be able to produce


simple products. Starting your own business entails serious hard work. It involves,
activities like research, planning, testing, developing, marketing, and the like.

Produce Simple Product

Cheesy Maja Blanca

Ingredients:
1 can coconut milk
1 can evaporated milk
1 can corn kernels
½ cup sugar
1 cup cornstarch
1 bar cheese
¼ cup water

Procedure:

1. In a saucepan, combine coconut milk, corn, and sugar. Over medium heat, bring
to a gentle boil, stirring occasionally until sugar is dissolved.
2. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and cold water until completely smooth. Slowly
add coconut milk, whisking vigorously to prevent lumps.
3. Continue to cook, whisking regularly, for about 2 to 4 minutes or until mixture
thickens to a smooth paste consistency
4. In a lightly greased 8 x 8 baking dish, transfer thickened coconut mixture. Using
a spatula, smoothen the surface.
5. To serve maja blanca sprinkle it with cheese.

Yema

Ingredients:

7 pieces egg yolks


1 can condensed milk
3 tbsp butter

5 tbsp chopped peanuts
Procedure:

1. Combine egg yolks and condensed milk. Mix well.


2. Add chopped peanuts. Whisk until well blended.
3. Melt butter in a cooking pot or pan. Pour the egg yolk mixture into the pan.
4. Continue to cook until the consistency becomes very thick to the point that it can
easily form a shape when molded.
5. Transfer the mixture to a bowl. Let it cool down.
6. Cut the cellophane into 3x3 inch pieces. Scoop 1 table spoons of mixture and
place at the middle of the cellophane to form a pyramid.
7. Continue to wrap the yema until all the mixture are consumed.
