RE APPOINTMENT AS A GRADUATE TEACHER FOR CRE AND GEOGRAPHY.
Reference is made to your application letter dated 5 th May 2022 in which you applied for a
teaching job.The headmaster is satisfied with your six-month ‘probationary
performance.congulations!
On behalf of the Board of Governors Kakanju vocational secondary school, you have been
appointed on contract to teach Geography and Christian Religious Education, effective 15 th July,
2022.
Duties and responsibilities
1.You will on termly and weekly basis, prepare schemes of work and lesson plans in line with
the approved curriculum;
2.you will conduct lessons and remedial work according to the set timetable
3.you will participate in the setting , administering and marking of examinations;
4.you will carry out continuous assessment and evaluation of students
5.you will keep and maintain class records/inventory (registers, records of work covered and
counsel students.);
6.You will guide and counsel students;
7.you will keep, control and secure against misuse/theft all school property under your care.
8.you will perform any other duties in line with your duties, as may be assigned to you by the
headteacher/deputy headteacher/Head of Department.
TERMS OF REFERENCE
1.The board of Governors is your appointing authority and employer. It deserves the right to
appoint you on contract,to renew your contract,to to dismiss you due to misconduct,and review
it’s terms of reference.
2.you will be answerable to the Headteacher, Deputy headteacher and your immediate
supervisor.
3.your immediate supervisor will be the Head of Arts department.
4.you have been duly appointed on a two year contract period, effective 15th July 2022.
4:You will be paid a salary of 200,000=(Two hundred thousand shillings)
5:You will work during the term time, between Monday and Friday, excluding public
holidays;from 8am.to 5p.m, follow the set school teaching and examination timetables.You will
have tea and lunch breaks.
6.you will be entitled to a maternity leave of 60 (sixty) working days.
7.you will be entitled to school meals during working days.
CONTRACT TERMS.
a.The appointing authority will renew your contract if it seems that your services are still
necessary to the school;
b.The appointing authority will decline renewal of your contract if it seems that your services are
no longer necessary to the school;
C.The appointing authority will dismiss you before the expiry date of your contract due to
misconduct arising out of violation of either the duties or responsibilities, either the terms of
reference, and/or the code of conduct set herein.
D.incase of voluntary resignation,you will be expected to give due notice of resignation to the
accounting officer/Headteacher,at least two months prior to the resignation date.At that time of
resignation,you will not be paid for the remaining months of the contract period.
THE TEACHER'PROFESSIONAL CODE OF CONDUCT.
You will be bound y the teachers code of conduct,it is hereby attached to this appointment.
