My name is Chandrika Kumari Makwana and I am 18 years old.

I was born in Hyderabad Sindh, a

historic city in Pakistan. Later, my family relocated to Karachi, a vibrant metropolitan city with a busy
city life and competitive academic race.

Since the start of my academic years, I have been a bright student, always getting top position in my
exams and engaged in extra-curricular activities specifically debates with great applause from
teachers and fellow students. My father is a medical doctor (Cardiologist), he was offered a job at
Bahrain Defence Forces Hospital and I moved to Bahrain in 2017. I am very enthusiastic to work to
uplift those students who don't have enough resources and help them in my capacity. Last year,
when my fellow countrymen suffered heavily due to devastating floods, I tried to help them by
sending cash donations and acknowledging them by volunteer organisations. In Early 2023, I
participated in a declamation talent show and grabbed 2nd position in my school.

I am always fascinated by the noble profession of my father. Growing up I have always loved
learning new things about the human body and helping people around me. My dedication to this
field further fuelled when I spent one-month shadowing nurses and doctors. Learning about new
technologies and how to use them left me fascinated and exhilarated to immense myself in the
world of medicine. Volunteering in a hospital has taught me the ups and downs of being a doctor
and how challenging it can be to take care of the patient. Nevertheless, these encounters have
solidified my determination to become a doctor and help people in need.

I chose Hungary to study medicine as it is not only advanced in the field of Medicine but at the same
time I am mesmerised by the beautiful landscapes of this country. Additionally, it is a very developed
country which will surely help me to study medicine in a more interesting as I will be surrounded by
unique and recent technologies. Furthermore, Hungary's exceptional history and culture would
surely make my time there more congenial and educational. I specifically choose University of
Debrecen as I was drawn to the esteemed institution for its marvellous research programs, the
opportunity to be taught by the extremely devoted and brilliant teachers, and its reputation to be
the best university for medical education. After thorough research I am confident that studying here
would provide me with all the knowledge and expertise required to become exceptional doctor.

However, I am aware of all the problems I would have to face to study in a foreign country alone and
I am ready to face it. I believe that this opportunity will not only boarden my academic horizon but
also help me me more mentally and emotionally strong which could help me in my future life. Being
exposed to new language, culture and people will provide me with a unique opportunity for personal
and academic growth.
