a) Drill
Using the projector, present the following basic facts in
multiplication and division. Find the product and quotient.
4x6= 6x7= 5x4= 3x9= 8x5=
15÷3= 35÷5= 48÷6= 22÷2= 18÷3=

b) Review
IV. PROCEDURES

Ask the students to identify the parts of a fraction.

A. Reviewing previous lesson
or presenting the new 𝟑
lesson 𝟒
Conduct a review on identifying proper fractions, improper
fractions, and mixed numbers through “PASS THE BALL GAME”.
Play music while a pupil passes the ball to another. This continues
until the music stops. As soon as the music stops, whoever holds
the ball will stand and identify whether what is written on the flash
card is a proper fraction, improper fraction, or mixed number.

Ask:
1. How often do you have visitors during weekends?
B. Establishing a purpose for
the lesson
2. What do you do if you have visitors?
3. How do you entertain visitors?
(Infuse the value of extending help to the family in every little way.)

Present the problem.

Aling Maymay pizza for her visitors, she asked Scarlet to slice the
pizza into eighths. When Scarlet ate one slice, she noticed that she made
23/8 pizza. How many whole pizza and slices will be served to the
visitors?
C. Presenting Ask:
examples/instances of the
new lesson
1. What did mother bake for her visitors?
2. How many slices of pizza did mother request Scarlet to prepare?
3. How many eighths did Scarlet make out of the pizza?
4. What is asked in the problem?
5. How will you solve the problem?
6. Solve for the answer.

To change the improper fraction to a mixed number using division,

divide the numerator by the denominator.
✓ The quotient will be the whole number
✓ The remainder will be the numerator; and
✓ The divisor will be the denominator.
