Work done by drill line : Stuck-pipe & Jarring
Note : Jarring and working on string to unstick drill pipe causes extreme strain and wear on drill-line. It is imposs
to calculate exactly the work-done and amount of service-wear during this operation. It must be remember
that in all cases, visual inspection of drill-line by rig crew must take precedence over any sort of calculation
and accordingly slip & cut should be done.
IN-PUT DATA
Maximum weight (on Weight Indicator) while working-on-string = 140 ton
Number of times the string is pulled to above maximum weight = 170 from Record-o-graph.
Number of times Jarred up and Jarred down = 170 from Record-o-graph.
OUT-PUT DATA
n drill-line. It is impossible
. It must be remembered
any sort of calculations
