LESSON PLAN

3RD QUARTER – WEEK 1-3

February 13, 2024

Content Standard: The learners will demonstrates understanding of motion in objects.

Performance Standard: The students shall be able to observe, describe, and investigate the
position and movement of things around them.

Most Essential Learning Competency: Describe the position of a person or an object in

relation to a reference point such as chair, door, another person. (S3FE-IIIa-b-1)

I. OBJECTIVE
At the end of the lesson, pupils are expected to:
1. Define the meaning of force and motion,
2. Explain the relationship between force and motion,
3. Demonstrate the understanding of force and motion.
II. SUBJECT MATTER
Topic: Force and Motion
Reference: MELC’S
Materials: Laptop, TV, Visual Aids
III. PROCEDURE
A. Daily Routine:
1. Prayer
2. Drill:
F-O-R-C-E – What?
F-O-R-C-E – Force
F-O-R-C-E – What?
F-O-R-C-E – Force

A force is any push or pull

That may or may not touch, you see
Push to skate on rollerblades
Pull a rope in tug-of-war
Push the pedals on a bike
Pull a handle on a door

Push a basketball to shoot

Pull the reins to ride a horse
Push up weights to exercise
Push and pull - each is a force

(Chorus)
A force is any push or pull
Forward, backward, round and round
Gravity pulling down
A force is any push or pull

Magnetism all around

Friction slowing motion down
A force is any push or pull
Everywhere here on earth
And all around the universe
3. Review:
Pre activity
Direction: We have here some pictures and descriptions, we will paste the
pictures here in the board. All you have to do is to find the description that
corresponds the picture. We will give only one minute to do the task.

PICTURES DESCRIPTIONS
1.
a. The children pull the rope to
win the rope pull contest.
b. A girl learns to ride a bike.
Her dad pushed the bike so
2.
that she can moves forward.
c. The boy pushed the wheel
chair to move.
d. The man pushed the door.
e. A boy catches a fish. He
uses his fishing pole to pull
3.
the fish out of the water.

B. Lesson Proper
1. Motivation:
 The Teacher will let the students look outside the window or just
pay attention on what actions will the teacher do.

2. Discussion:
Force is a push or pull that can make an object move. Example, you have this
ball, pull is when you bring this object towards you, while push is when you move an
object away from you. In humans we used force for our daily activities. Example,
hugging your friend, throwing your garbage, pulling your bag, doing household
chores and even when you walk or run. Two types of force. The Contact Force,
which is that happens between object that touch (for example kicking the ball) and
the other one is non-contact force that applies to object even without touching (for
example, the apple falls from the tree). These are some examples of using human
force. When force is applied to an object, motion is produced. Motion is a change in
the position or direction of an object. It is a movement from one place to another, and
also every activity we do has motion. So, we need force to change motion. That is
why force is related or had a relationship to each other. Example, if we put this chair
into motion, force will be applied.

Teacher will kick the ball; the motion that is applied here is movement
from one place to the other. Let’s have another example, an apple fell on the ground,
this is a movement from one place to the other. Walking and running are also
example of movement from one place to the other.

3. Pre-lab Activity:
 Setting of standards for group activity.
 Reminding precautionary measures for safety purposes.
 Presentation and distribution of materials.
 Clarify procedure in the activity.

Proper Activity:
Teacher will group her students into four. All they have to do is to study
the pictures and identify how motion occurs if it is movement from one place to
the other or rotational motion and in the other side identify if it is contact force or
non-contact force.

These are the pictures:

1. Movement from one place to the other.

2. Rotational motion

3. Movement from one place to the other.

4. Non-contact force

5. Contact force

V. Evaluation:
Directions:
Kindly get one whole sheet of paper, write the date today, your name and your
section. Write the letter of the correct answer.

1. Suppose that you are pushing a toy car. What are you applying to the toy car for it
to move.
a. Force
b. Speed
c. Motion
2. A boy is kicking the ball. What motion did he applied?
a. Non-contact force
b. Movement from one place to the other
c. Rotation motion
3. It will occur when force will apply.
a. Force
b. Gravity
c. Motion
4. Ana comb her hair. What force did she applied?
a. Non-contact force
b. Magnetic force
c. Contact force
5. Excessive force can make the child healthier.
a. Both
b. True
c. False
