 Greetings

Good afternoon again, Grade 4! How are you feeling today?

Today, I will be your teacher in health. You can call me, Teacher Mawi.

 Checking of Attendance

Before we begin, let me check the attendance. Let me call our secretary.
Cristina, are there any absentees today?

 Classroom Management

Now, please allow me to present some classroom rules that you must follow for
us to have a peaceful discussion.

First, keep quiet, especially when someone is talking.

Second, listen very carefully for you to understand and be able to answer my
questions.
Third, raise your hand if you want to answer. No shouting, and avoid calling my
name!
Lastly, the golden rule: respect each other.

I have a list of groups here. When I add a line to your group, it implies that
someone isn't following the rules. Each line shows the points that will be
deducted from your quiz later.

B. Motivational Activities

 Motivation

Before we began our discussion, I prepared a game.

Kids, would you like to play a game?

This game is called “Guess the magic word.”

Each door has a picture, and all you must do is guess the name of the product that
it's referring to through the given clue.

D. Discussion

Today, we will discuss reading food labels and how to keep them clean and safe.

What is Food Label?

Food labels carry useful information to help you make informed choices about what
you and your family eat and drink. Most packaged foods are required to have a label
with this information, but the information required depends on the food type.

What do food labels contain?

Name of the product, the kind of food and the amount of weight or volume.
Nutrition Facts -

E. Application

Now, for our group activity, I will group you into four. The group will be with your team in
our previous activity called" guess the magic word."

TASKS:

Group 1: Imagine that you were in the school, and you received news that an
earthquake might happen. Create a role play showing what you need to do before,
during, and after an earthquake.

Group 2: Draw an emergency kit bag and paste pictures of the things that should be in
the emergency kit bag.

Group 3: Create a song about disaster preparedness.

Group 4: Create a slogan about preparedness in a disaster.

F. Generalization

Very good, Grade 4!

Have you learned something today?

If you learn something, who can tell me what the three common disasters in the
Philippines are?

In your own opinion, based on what we have discussed, what are the things that you
should always do to survive a disaster?

There are different safety guidelines that we should be aware of before, during, and
after a disaster. Safety guidelines are the steps you take to make sure you are safe
before, during, and after an emergency or natural disaster.

G. Valuing

Always remember:

It is important to learn the different safety guidelines before, during, and after a disaster
or any emergency. No one can prevent natural disasters. But you can prepare for them.
Being ready for a situation like this before it happens may help you protect yourself,
your family, and your home.
