1 Introduction:
The soil exploration work was carried out at the project site / location given by the client.
1 Bore hole - 01
2 Depth of Borehole 5.00 meters
A Field Investigation
B Laboratory Investigation
For Soil
1 Bulk density and moisture contents
2 Grain size analysis
3 Index properties
4 Shear tests
C Recommendations
Based on the above investigations, the results are to be obtained. The findings would be
based on interpretation of results, analysis and computations as per relevant Indian standards.

2.2 Sampling
Disturbed samples were collected during boring and also from the split spoon
sampler. The samples collected were logged, labeled and placed in polyethylene
bags and sent to laboratory for testing.
Undisturbed samples were collected in thin walled Shelby tubes, sealed with
wax, labeled and transported to laboratory for testing.
The following laboratory tests were conducted on undisturbed and disturbed soil samples
collected from various depths to find physical properties and strength characteristics. To
measure the soil properties in the laboratory, following tests were conducted.

The study of the soil investigation at the site at various depths indicates
layers as shown in the general stratifications.
Ground water table is not encountered at the time of investigation.
Any variation in stratification in any of the foundation location shall be studied
thoroughly before executing the foundation work.
For design of foundation, it is recommended that sub-soil condition should be
considered in the influence zone of foundation.
The depth of Foundation is to be considered from natural ground level.
S.B.C. / A.B.P. is recommended by considering all the parameters affecting to soil
& rock at the field as well as in the laboratory.
If at the time of actual excavation major solution cavaties have been found which
have rendered the ground surface uneven, the depth of foundation should be taken
to a level such that 80 percent rock area is available. It must be ensured that the raft
does not over hang at any corner.
Otherwise excavate the filled up soil up to 80 percent area level and backfill it by
Iean concrete of required strength. However, the rock has to be excavated up to
the pre-selected foundation level.
If after excavation, loose pockets of talus deposit are found out at a few places, the
same should be cleaned and backfilled with lean concrete.
If very deep observation pits have been made at the site, the same should be
backfilled by lean concrete up to the foundation level.
Due attention should be paid to problems of foundation on hetrogeneous rocks
particularly foundations on rock slopes and necessary remedial measures should
be taken.
Care should be taken to remove loosened pieces of rock from the foundation after
blasting (if required) and washing & air jetting has been done so that foundation rest
on practically undisturbed rock mass.
Depth of rock may vary other than exploration point so it is advisable to rest the
foudation on rock surface by removing upper loose granular soil strata.
