This document discusses two studies that aim to determine student competence and preparedness. The first study examines the demographic profile and levels of emotional, academic, and financial preparedness of criminal justice freshmen. It hypothesizes that there is no relationship between demographic profile and preparedness levels. The second study examines youth engagement and understanding of an anti-drug program, looking at demographic profile and understanding levels. It also hypothesizes no relationship between demographic profile and understanding. Both studies seek to better understand students and design effective educational programs.
