Purposes:
- To provide a clean and comfortable bed for the patient
- To give a neat and tidy appearance to the unit
- To keep it ready for the emergency unit
- To receive the patient comfortably
- To provide active and passive exercise to the patient
- To establish interpersonal relationship
- To prevent bed sores
- Etc
Types of bed :
- Occupied bed = bed with patient
- Unoccupied bed = it is empty bed (no patient)

Nurse = I am going to do bed making. I am going to change your linen bed, pillow
cases, bed spread, draw sheet, etc. the purpose to make you comfort with tidy,
neat and clean bed. Are you ready?
Ms. Elen = Yes. I am ready
Nurse = Alright, I am going to prepare everything and close this curtain to keep
your privacy.
Nurse = Firstly, I am going to take your pillow first. Could you lay flat on the bed
without pillow? Is it headache or not?
Ms. Elen = Ok, Sure. No problem. I am fine
Nurse = Alright, I am going to change your pillow cases later. Now, I am going to
change the bed linen, bed spread, draw sheet, etc. Would you like to turn your
body onto your left side please? I will help you..Excuse me, in one, two, three,
slowly. Well now your body is turn into left side. Keep your position. I will change
the right of bed linen. Do you feel comfort now?
Ms. Elen = Yes, I am comfort.
Nurse = Well, I have done for changing the right bed linen. Now, please lay down
again your position. Let me help you. In one, two, three..ok
Ms. Elen = Ok Miss, Like that…
Nurse = Yes, that’s right. Now, would you like to turn your body onto your right
side please? I will help you..Excuse me, in one, two, three, slowly. well now your
body is turn into right side. Keep your position. I will change the left of bed linen.

Ms. Elen = Yes, I am comfort.
Nurse = Well, I have done for changing the left bed linen. Now, please lay down
again your position. Let me help you. In one, two, three..ok.
MS. Elen = Ok
Nurse = Now, I am going to change your pillow cases and blanket. Excuse me..
Ms. Elen = Sure, No problem.
Nurse = Well, I have finished with bed making. Is there any question for me?
Ms. Elen = No, thank you.
Nurse = what do you feel now?
Ms. Elen = I feel comfort, my bed is now clean, tiny and neat. My pillow and
blanket also nice..thank you miss.
Nurse = You’re welcome miss. Well. I have to leave you. I have to continue to
