Time: 7:30-8:30 - 9:45-10:45 am Quarter: 3

I. Objective

A. Content The learners who desire to be draftsmen must be

Standards taught and trained the science and art of the technical
drafting.

B. Performance The learner’s emphasis must be given to minute

Standards details of the whys, and how including the dos and
don’ts of the drawing.

C. Learning At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:
Competencies/ a. Identify what is the purpose of Geometric
Objective Construction
b. Use the different methods of Geometric
Construction in making a boarder template
c. Appreciate the important of the methods in
Geometric Construction.

A. Review of precious A. Preliminary activities
lesson.
 Good morning class. -Good morning,
sir.
 Everyone please stands up
and let us pray.

 Again, good morning class. -Good morning,

sir.
 Say present if you were -Yes sir.
here.

Review.
 From our last discussion I
show you some of the lines,
right?
B. Establishing the A. Motivation
purpose of the
lesson.  Before we start our -Yes sir.
discussion. Are you familiar
with this different kind of
lines?
 Okay.
 So now you are going to
identify the lines that I draw
in the paper and you need to
stick it to the board and. And
later we will check if it is
correct.
 Are ready? -Yes sir
 Okay so let’s start.
 Okay thank you.

 Now we will proceed to our

topic.
C. Presenting new A. Presentation
examples/instance
s  From our activity a few
minutes ago, do you have
any idea what is our topic for
today?
 Okay very good.
 So, our topic for today is
Geometric Construction.

 Geometric Construction
suggests simplified method
of construction, point out
practical applications and
provide opportunity for
practice in accurate
instrumental drawing. It is
incumbent upon all students
who desire to become
draftsman to be familiar with
geometrical figures and of
course in plane geometry
and to be able to sketch and
draw them.

 Definition of Geometric Term

and figures

 1. Point – this refers to a

geometric figure without any
dimension. It only shows
position.

 2. Line – this is a figure

made by a moving point. It
has length.

 2.2 Perpendicular lines are

lines that are drawn 90
degrees in relation to a
horizontal line. (some of the
students that
 2.3 Vertical lines are lines call is going to
which are parallel to the read the
vertical edge of the paper. sentence)

 2.4 Inclined lines are lines

which are neither vertical nor
horizontal.

 3. Angle – this refers to the

space or opening between
two straight lines that meet.

 3.1 Right angle is an angle

that contains 90 degrees.

 3.2 Acute angle are angles

that are less than 90
degrees.

 3.3 Obtuse angles are

angles that are

more than 90 degrees but

less than 180 degrees.

 3.4 Reflex angles are angles

that are more than 180
degrees.

 3.5 Straight angle is an

angle having 180 degrees.

 4. Triangle – a figure having

three (3) angles and three
(3) sides.
 4.1 Scalene triangle is a
triangle with unequal sides
and angle.

 4.2 Isosceles triangle is a

triangle with two equal sides
and two equal angles.

 4.3 Equilateral
triangle/equiangular triangle
is a triangle which has 3
equal sides and equal angle.

 4.4 Right triangle with a right

angle.

 5. Parallel lines – two or

more lines equidistant from
each other at all points and
they never meet.

 6. Bisect – to divide a line

into two equal parts.

 7. Trisect – to divide into 3

equal parts.

 8. Tangent – a line (straight

or curve) which touches the
circumference of a circle at
only one point.

 9. Arc – a portion or a
segment of a circumference
of the circle.

 10. Circumference – the

entire length of the circular
extremities of the circle.

 11. Radius – the shortest

distance from a point and
the circumference to the
center of the circle.

 12. Chord – a straight line

connecting two points in the
circumference of a circle
without passing through the
center.

 13. Sector – a segment of a

circle bounded by two radii
the arc between the radii.

 14. Diameter – the distance

from two points of the circle.

 15. Center – a place figure

bounded by the
circumference which is
equidistant from a common
point, the center.

 16. Regular polygons are

polygons having equal sides
and angle.

 16.1 Square is a regular

polygon with 4 equal sides
and four right angles.

 16.2 Pentagon is a regular

polygon of 5 equal sides and
5 equal angles.

 16.3 Hexagon is regular

polygon with 6 equal sides
and angles.

 16.4 Heptagon is a regular

polygon with 7 equal sides
and angles.

 16.5 Octagon is a regular

polygon with 8 equal sides
and angles.

 16.6 Nonagon is a regular

polygon with 9 equal sides
and angles.

 16.7 Decagon is a regular

polygon with 10 equal sides
and angles.
