Description of Visuals
The screen is black as the drummer begins the
drumstick count-off, then opening with a
medium shot of the drummer as he begins the
introduction. The camera then switches to a
close-up of guitar strumming. Then, moves to
a long shot of the whole band performing.
Panning shot, 180 degree close up of singer.
There is a simple smoky, black background
with bright, ambient lighting.
Quick close-ups of bottle/can shots or glass
smashing in slow-motion can be seen, used as
filling/transition scenes to add a sense of
action. It ends with glasses clinking together.
The camera shows a medium, still shot of
drummer, then cuts to a medium shot of
singer staring intently at the camera.
Close-up/outwards zoom of guitar riff, the
camera glides down the guitar, following the
guitarists hands. Then, switches to a long shot
of the whole band in the dark, empty room.
The camera cuts to a close-up of singer from
one of his sides (left or right), the light shines
bright in the background. There is quick long
shots of a girl dressed up walking/running on
the street.
The camera displays a back, medium shot of
the drummer, with the band in the
background. Then, switches to a
medium/close-up shot of the guitarist.
There is a transparent medium shot of the
singer, layered in front of close-ups of the
band members (or girls) staring intensely from
a dark street lit by a streetlamp towards the
camera from different distances.
Camera showcases a panning medium shot of
the band, beginning with drums. A close-up of
drums details the base of the song.
Another still close-up of the singer is shown,
or perhaps a very slow zoom in.
During ‘oh but’, there is a close-up of the
drummer hitting the drums passionately in
time with the music. Then, a quick extreme
close-up of the microphone by the singers
mouth, mouthing ‘babe’. The rest consists of
the guitar and bass players back to back.

The camera cuts to a medium shot of the
singer, then changes to a slow-motion shot of
two people (girl and boy?) sat at a blank table
playing a game of rock paper scissors. The man
roughly pulls his chair away after losing and
walks off, showing a long shot in an empty
room of the man walking away angrily.
There is a full-body long shot of the band
playing their instruments, which then
progresses into a medium front shot of the
drummer as he hits the cymbals.
A rotating, 180 degree shot of the singer is
carried across the screen, growing more and
more transparent until a shot of a dressed-up
girl with bruises on her face is dragged away/
a close-up of a hand dropping in dim light.
The memory fades out and back into the
medium/close-up shot of the singer from
another angle.
The camera cuts to a moving shot, rotating
sideways around the guitar and bassist,
displaying both the drummer and singer in the
background with bright lights beaming
through the gaps.
The half-lit face from the singer is present
from a medium shot as he faces and sings to
the camera; the camera zooms out slowly to
reveal a long shot.
A close-up shot of the strumming guitar is
shown, the camera moves along the guitar,
starting with the sound hole and gently
moving to the fret board.
There is a medium shot back view of the
drummer as the cymbals are cast, a dark
empty room can be seen beyond – lit by side
lighting.
A single shot of the singer speaking to the
microphone is repeated. This shot is a close-up
from shoulders up.
There is quick flashing shots of cityscapes and
a singular person running. The camera traces
back to the singer shortly after.

On the word ‘babe’ the camera presents a
close-up shot of the drummer casting the
drums heavily.
A long shot of the full band is then drawn
across the screen, lively and rocking – the
lights are now brighter and strobing
rhythmically.
There is a medium shot taken from behind the
singer as he turns to the side. The bright lights
can be seen softly through the smoke, causing
light beams to appear around the silhouette.
[Repeat of first chorus]
A medium zooming shot of the singer is
presented on the screen.

(Instrumental) Quick close-up shots of cards being laid out in

a neat cyclical pattern on a wooden table, one
is taken from the pack and is thrown carelessly
back on the table in slow-motion. A person
retracts their seat, pushing by hand and
shoves it back under the table.
There is a mix of shots between the guitars
and drums, with lots of movement. There is
then a panning/rotating long-shot of the
whole band from one side, before moving
back to the guitar.
After, quick scenes of scenery in woods are
shown. Then, leads to various close-up shots
of the members of the band (drum and guitar)
playing towards each other. Various fight
scenes could also work here too.
Alongside this, slow-motion scenes of smoking
and drinking are shown. There is ashing of the
cigarette, and it is extinguished before singing
begins again. (A girl lighting cig transparent to
boy lighting one – mum & son?)

I'm her pacifier medium shot of the singer, lighting half of his
face, exposing the darkness behind.

(Instrumental) There is close-up and medium shots of both

the guitar/bass and drums. This then cuts to a
long shot of the whole band moving.
I'm her pacifier A shot of a person’s hand spray painting a
smiling face on wall is shown.
I'm her pacifier The whole band is then finally displayed
together again, stood in an empty, blank room,
getting lighter.
There is a medium shot of the drums as the
last note is played. This moves to a medium
shot of the guitar as it rings out.
The song ends with a long shot of the whole
band standing looking at each other, a singular
blinding bright beam of light increases
intensity as they gather.
