I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson the students will be able to:
A. Identify the locations of Illocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and Central
Luzon on the map of the Philippines,
B. Develop an appreciation for the cultural diversity and natural beauty
of these regions,
C. Perform group given activities.

II. Subject Matter

Guess the Region!
Instruction: Students will be given a five minutes to observe the
picture carefully and think about which region in the Philippines they believe
this place belongs to.
C. Lesson Proper
1. Activity
Map Labeling-Identify the Regions!
Instruction:
- Students will be divided into three groups and each group will be
given a map of the Philippines.
- Label the following regions on the map:(Grp. 1- Illocos Region,
Grp. 2- Cagayan Valley, and Grp.3- Central Luzon.)
- Select one or two representative to present your output and share a
what you’ve learned about that region.

- What were the three regions we learned about in this lesson?
- Why is it important to know where places are on a map?

3. Abstraction
Illocos Region:
The Illocos Region is located in the northwestern part of the
Philippines. It's known for its beautiful coastline, historic towns,
and unique architecture influenced by Spanish colonization. One
of the most famous places in this region is Vigan, a UNESCO World
Heritage Site with well-preserved Spanish-era structures. The
region is also known for its strong cultural traditions, delicious
local cuisines like bagnet (crispy pork) and empanada (savory
pastry), and the iconic Bangui Windmills that harness wind energy.
Cagayan Valley:
Cagayan Valley, also known as Region II, is situated in the
northeastern part of the Philippines. It's known for its agricultural
richness, with vast rice fields and fertile lands. The region is
surrounded by mountains, rivers, and valleys. The Callao Caves,
with their stunning limestone formations, are a prominent natural
attraction. Cagayan Valley is also home to diverse indigenous
cultures and festivals that celebrate their heritage.

Central Luzon:
Central Luzon, also referred to as Region III, is in the central part
of the island of Luzon. This region is characterized by its fertile
plains, making it a major agricultural area producing rice, corn,
and other crops. Pampanga, a province within Central Luzon, is
famous for its culinary delights, including sisig and halo-halo. The
region also features Mount Pinatubo, a volcano known for its
major eruption in 1991, which resulted in the creation of a
stunning crater lake.
