Completing a school assignment and project can be a difficult task which

requires a lot of careful planning and conscious action. Some students like to
work together in groups while others prefer to do all the work on their own. I
am entirely in favour of working independently because by doing so, one
develops some very important skills and finds the result of his efforts far more
satisfying.

To begin with, independent work teaches students how to manage their time
wisely and helps them become more aware of their abilities. It is easy to rely on
someone else’s help and wait to be told what to do, but when students do their
schoolwork by themselves, they learn to take the initiative and work in a pace
which is suitable for them. As a result, they become more self-disciplined and
organized. Also, students get insights into their strengths and weaknesses and
develop their own study methods. These are qualities which will be very useful
for them later in university or in the workplace.

Furthermore, students get much more satisfaction from their

accomplishments when they know that they have done all the work by
themselves. They can use their own ideas, without needing to explain them to
other people and ask for their approval. If, for example, a group of students
work together on a project conflicts may arise because each of them will have
different preferences on how to get things done. By working independently,
students avoid such problems and take full responsibility for their schoolwork.

All in all, by working independently on their projects and assignments students

have the freedom to do whatever they like best which makes them generally
more satisfied with the results. They also learn how to be organized and find
out what it is that they are good at. The experience and knowledge they get
from it is very important for their future work and life.
An opinion essay

Television is undoubtedly one the most significant inventions for humanity. It

has had a dramatic impact on people’s lives and there is much dispute about
whether it is positive or negative. I believe that television has a mostly positive
effect on society because of its educational advantages and its ability to unite
people.

To begin with, television makes people well-informed and educates them on

many different topics. It keeps them up-to-date with the latest news and
encourages them to care more about the world’s problems. Thus, citizens
become more active members in their society. Additionally, television may be a
very effective free learning tool if it is used wisely. It offers people a lot of
information about health, science, culture or whatever interests them. For
instance, those who watch educational programs such as National Geographic
happen to have richer general knowledge and perform better at school or at
work.

Moreover, watching TV gathers people together and lets them have more
things in common. The most popular shows and series might be the reason for
many animated discussions. For example, even if two people have different
interests, they may like to watch the same TV programs which are made to fit
the general public. Also, television helps people who suffer from social
isolation. They can satisfy their desire to build relationships and establish
themselves in society which will make them feel less lonely and depressed.
Similarly, those who are exposed to positive models when they watch TV, may
start to behave better and this will affect their social life in a positive way.

To sum up, television is certainly a great innovation and has much to offer to
people. The various information it gives and the unique way in which it pulls
people together contributes positively to the today’s global world. Television
will always be an important part of people’s lives with generally good influence
on society.
