the only thing that I can do for them is
to assure them that everything will
pass, that everything will be alright
soon. Because I, myself am also not
stable. It is hard to completely
connect to them carrying this extra
baggage.
Since the students are not in the
physical school environment, we,
teachers are the ones who are
assigned to take good care of these
facilities and equipment. We dust
them off, we cleaned and check on
them every now and then to make
sure that they’re still in good
condition. Unlike before, the students
make use of these learning resources
and they serve their purpose. Now it’s
almost useless and we have to take
charge of them. But it is fine with me
since cleaning is one of my coping
mechanisms.
The disadvantage of internet
connectivity in education is when the
assessment came, the students are
relaying their academic outputs on the
internet. They don’t reflect and dive
more into their own understanding
but walk the easiest path to escape
each assessment. And it has a lot of

In terms of giving feedback, I am also
hesitant sometimes to give my
observations, suggestions, and
comments whether it’s type text or
through virtual discussion, because
they might misunderstand it but yeah,
as a teacher we should still take risks
to correct our students and guide
them.
As a teacher, it is expected of us to be
flexible and always on the go but
sometimes the loads of work that is
given to us is overwhelming. We don’t
just teach, guide, assist and evaluate
but we are also a learner who
continues to improve ourselves, a
supporter of our school’s vision and
mission to help the community, a role
model who is well-mannered and has
a lot of useful skills to accommodate
the unexpected circumstances.
