IV. PROCEDURES For struggling reader students:
Pre-Reading Activities
The students will be grouped into two.
Each group will pick a representative for
each round and the representative will
need to give 5 words that starts with the
given letter for only 15 seconds. The
group with most examples given will be
declared as winners.
During Reading
The teacher will then used the words
given in enunciating the sounds of the
alphabet. The teacher will give a new
word for each letter, and students will try
to determine which could be the correct
enunciation of the words given.
Example: is it B-u-g or V-u-g?
For instructional students:
Students will be grouped into two and each

Pre-reading
The teacher will ask the students to write in
a paper the idea that comes into their mind
when they hear the words that the teacher
will say. Afterwards, the teacher will make a
concept map for each word and students will
be assigned to fill out the concept map with
the ideas in their paper. The students will
read the answers in chorus.

During Reading
The students will read silently the story
entitled “The Grouchy Ladybug”.
Afterwards, two students will be asked to
read the story in front of the class.
