FOKKER 27

Fokker 27 Carpet Installation

I. General Information

This task involves the installation of Fokker 27 cabin flooring using carpet. To install carpet flooring in the

Fokker 27 aircraft, ensuring a secure and aesthetically pleasing result.

Required no of Work Hours : 4 Hours


Required no of Personnel : 5 Persons (Group)
PCAR Work Level . : 3
Work Category : Non-Routine
II. Task Objective

To install cabin flooring in accordance with the Fokker 27 service manual using carpet.

WARNING:

- Use caution with sharp tools. Follow proper cutting techniques and wear protective
gear.
- Maintain a clean work area to avoid accidents. Organize tools and materials to prevent tripping
hazards.
- Be cautious near electrical components. Follow safety protocols and consult the manual for
precautions.

CAUTION:

- Exercise caution during precision cuts. Measure accurately and use appropriate cutting tools.
- Apply adhesive according to manual guidelines. Uneven application may affect board adhesion.
- Inspect the subfloor for damage before installation. Address any issues for a stable foundation.
- Promptly clean excess adhesive. Uncured adhesive may affect flooring appearance and
performance.

1. Preparation:
a. Review the Fokker 27 service manual for cabin flooring installation
guidelines.
b. Ensure the work area is clean, well-ventilated, and free from debris.

2. Remove Existing Flooring (if applicable):


a. Follow the service manual instructions for removing any existing
flooring materials.
b. Inspect the subfloor for damage or irregularities and address as
needed.

3. Measure and Mark:


a. Roll out the aviation-grade carpet and measure it according to the
dimensions obtained.
b. Mark the measurements on the carpet , considering any required
cutouts

4. Cutting the Carpet:


a. Use appropriate cutting tools to cut the carpet according to the
marked measurements.
b. Ensure precise cuts for a proper fit in the cabin floor area.

5. Laying the Carpet:


a. Carefully position the cut carpet sections onto the adhesive-
covered floor.
b. Press down firmly and smooth out any wrinkles or bubbles as you
progress.
6. Trimming Excess:
a. Once the carpet is laid, use a utility knife to trim any excess
material along the edges for a clean finish.

7. Inspect and Clean:


a. Inspect the installed carpet for any imperfections, ensuring a
secure and well-fitted installation.
b. Clean the carpeted area and remove any adhesive residue.

8. Documentation:
a. Document the installation process, noting details such as date,
materials used, and any deviations from the service manual.
b. Complete any required log entries or forms specified in the Fokker
27 service manual.
