III. LEARNING ACTIVITIES

A. Preliminary Activities
Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity
1. Greeting “Good Afternoon class!”
the class “Good afternoon ma’am! Good
afternoon classmate!”

2. Checking “I will check the attendance now.”

Attendance
“Tell me who’s absent today.”
(The student said who’s absent’)
3. Checking “Okay class pass the assignment in front.”
of (The student pass their assignment in
Assignments the front.)

ENGAGE
1. Drill “Today you’re going to do an activity on
board which is called Fix me, there will be
a jumbled letters that you’re going to fix. I
will call three students to do the activity, do
you understand?”
“Yes ma’am!”
(The teachers called three students to
answer the activity on the board.”
(The three students answered the
jumbled letters on the board.)
2. Review “Now what did we learned yesterday?”
“It’s all about Reproductive Structures
of Animals ma’am.”
“Very good! Do you remember what are
the reproductive structures of the
animals?” Student number 1: Gametes

Student number 2: Ovary

Student number 3: Zygote

“Very good students.”

EXPLORE
1. Motivation “Now before we start our lesson for today,
I will give you a puzzle pieces and you will
stick it on the board do you understand
class?
“Yes ma’am.”

(The student’s did the activity on the

board.)
2. “Based on your activity earlier it’s all about
Presentation the?” “Reproductive Structures of the
Plants.”
“Structures of the plants.”
“Very good, understanding the structures
of the plants can help us to identify
different plant species, studying their
functions, and determining their ecological
roles. Knowledge of plant is important in
agriculture for optimizing crop growth and
yield.”

“Do you understand class?”

“Yes ma’am!”
3. Pre- “I will show you some of the structures of
Activity the flower, and you will identify which part
of the flower is that.”
“Do you understand class?”
“What part of the flower is this?”
“Yes ma’am!”

“A sepals ma’am.”

“Very good what about this what part of

the flower is this?”

“It’s the petals of the flower ma’am.”

“Very good class, give your self three
claps.”

(The students give themselves three

claps.)
4. Activity “Now that you learned the basic structures
Proper of the plants, I want you to bring out a
bond paper, pencil, and crayons.”
(The students bring out their
materials.)
“You will draw a simple flower for this
activity.”
(The students started their activity.)
“If you are finished pass your papers in
front.”

EXPLAIN
1. Group “Okay class, now I will group you into two
reporting groups and for the each group I will give
you the difference structures of the plants
and each group will have one
representative to explain what is the use of
the part of the plant given to you, do you
understand class?”
“Yes ma’am!”
(The teacher group the students into three
groups.)
(The students go to their groups.)

(Group 1 explain what is the benefits

of the petals on the plant.)

(Group 2 explains what is the benefits

of the sepals on the plant.)

“Very good class.”

2. “Now is anyone have any idea what will be
Discussion our lesson for today?”
“Reproductive structures of Plants.”

“Very good now you the basic structures of

the plants, we will now discuss the
Reproductive structures of the Plants.”

“As a plant's reproductive part, a flower

contains a stamen (male flower part) or
pistil (female flower part), or both, plus
accessory parts such as sepals, petals,
and nectar glands.”

“What is the male flower part called?”

“It’s called stamen ma’am!”
“Very good, what about the female flower
part?”
“It’s called pistil ma’am.”
“Very good.”

Stamen
• is a male reproductive organ
consisting of an anther and a filament
that holds it in place, allowing pollen
dispersal by wind, insects, or birds.

(The teacher called a student to read

the definition of the stamen.) (The student read what’s in the
board.)
Pistil
• female plant part, consists of stigma,
style, and ovary, containing eggs and
sepals protecting bud.

(The teacher calls a student to read

the definition of the pistil.)

Sepals (The student read the definition of the

• are small, green, leaf like structures pistil.)
located at the base of a flower. They
protect the flower bud. Collectively, the
sepals are called a calyx.

Petals
(The student read the definition of the
• the highly colored parts of a flower,
sepals.)
are collectively called a corolla and are
used to identify plant families and
genera.

“We have two different types of flower,

if a flower have a functioning stamen
and pistil it’s called perfect flower, if (The student read the definition of the
either stamens or pistil is lacking the petals.)
flower is called imperfect flower.”

ELABORATE
1. “Now that you have understand the
Generalizati reproductive structures of plants, I will ask
on you a few questions.”

“What is the male flower part called?”

“It’s called stamen ma’am.”
“Very good, what about the female flower
part called?”
“It’s called pistil ma’am.”
“Very good, how do you know if the flower
is perfect flower?”
“The flower should have stamen and
pistil ma’am.”
“The sepals are also called?”
“It is also called calyx ma’am.”
“Very good, give yourself three claps.”
2. “Okay class get one whole sheet of paper
Application and try to answer the question below.”

What are the distinct roles of stamen,

pistil, sepals, and petals in the
reproductive structures of flowering
plants?

(The student’s answer the question in

a paper.)
“Get a bond paper, draw a flower and you need to label it in 10 minutes.”
