COMMUNICATION

PROCESSES,
PRINCIPLES, AND
ETHICS
GROUP 3
Communication models are theoretical
frameworks used to conceptualize and
understand the process of
communication. These models provide a
simplified representation of how
communication works, breaking down
the complex process into manageable
components. There are many conceptual
models for human communication, each
emphasizing different aspects of
communication. Here are some of the
main ones:
ARISTOTLE’S MODEL

LASWELL’S MODEL

SHANNON-WEAVER’S MODEL

DAVID BERLO’S MODEL

COMMUNICATION MODEL
Aristotle's Model
• emphasizes speaker, speech, and
audience.
Laswell's Model
• focuses on Who says What in Which
channel to Whom and with What
effect.
COMMUNICATION MODEL
Shannon-Weaver's Model
• introduces components like noise, reception,
destination, and feedback.

David Berlo’s Model

• is also called SMCR which stands for sender of
the message, sent through a channel or
medium to a receiver.
The major variables involved in the communication
process are source, message, channel, and receiver.

their communication.
• Establish an effective value system that will
pave the way for the development of your
integrity as a person. One’s behavior and
decision-making style affect, in turn, the
operations of an organization.
• Provide complete and accurate information.
Whether it is needed or not, the data you
provide should always be contextualized and
correct.
• Disclose vital information adequately and
appropriately. Never conceal or hide information
that are necessary for purposes of
transparency.
